TL;DR: In this paper, the gear pump for supplying oil to a vehicle IC engine incorporates a dry sump pump (32), which has a gearwheel (38) which is driven by the same shaft (12), meshing with a second gearwheel on a driven shaft (18).
Abstract: The gear pump for supplying oil to a vehicle IC engine incorporates a dry sump pump (32). This has a gearwheel (38) which is driven by the same shaft (12) which drives the main pump by a gearwheel (14) meshing with a second gearwheel (16) on a driven shaft (18).

TL;DR: In this paper, a cooking oil cleaner and filter system for deep fat fryers is described, which includes a fryer well for containing either cooking oil to be used in frying, and a cooking-oil filtration and recirculation assembly connected to the well.
Abstract: A cooking oil cleaner and filter system for deep fat fryers which includes a fryer well for containing either cooking oil to be used in frying, and a cooking oil filtration and recirculation assembly connected to the well. The cooking oil filtration and recirculation assembly is substantially cylindrically shaped and includes a filter housing having a cylindrical outer surface connected to and longitudinally aligned with a pump housing also having a cylindrical outer surface and an aligned pump drive motor mounted on the pump housing. A suitable filter medium is disposed within a filter cavity in the filter housing with a foraminous partition extending across the filter cavity intermediate the filter medium and the pump housing. A gear pump is located in the pump housing and is drivingly secured to the pump drive motor output shaft, with the inlet port of the gear pump communicating with the filter cavity and with the outlet port communicating by means of a suitable conduit with the well. Another conduit communicates between the filter cavity and the opposite end of the well. In operation, the gear pump draws cooking oil from the well through the filter medium in the filter housing and pumps clean, filtered cooking oil from the pump housing through the connecting conduit to the opposite end of the well. The cooking oil filtration and recirculation assembly can be quickly and easily removed from the well and disassembled for cleaning or renewing the filter, and also for maintaining and servicing the gear pump.

TL;DR: In this paper, an apparatus and process for mixing and dispensing high viscosity, multiple component reactive liquids into a mold is described, where a self-locking motor is adapted to drive the linked gear pumps, acting as a valve to stop flow of the component liquids.
Abstract: An apparatus and process are provided for mixing and dispensing high viscosity, multiple component reactive liquids into a mold. The apparatus and process are particularly suitable for mixing and dispensing highly viscous intumescent fireproofing materials. Each reactive liquid component is stored in a separate pressure tank. The liquid components flow through separate conduits leading from each pressure tank, and are metered by a gear pump located in each component conduit. A gear linkage synchronously links the gear pumps together, and a self-locking motor is adapted to drive the linked gear pumps. When the motor is turned off, the gear pumps act as a valve to stop flow of the component liquids. The metered components flow into a common conduit, which has therein a static mixer for thoroughly mixing the components. The mixed components are then dispensed through an orifice. This orifice can be directed to the bottom of the mold so that the mold can be filled with the highly viscous material from the bottom to reduce the formation of air voids.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a pump with at least two pump sections each with a suction area and a pressure area, and a hydraulic resistance element is set in another fluid path connecting the pressure areas.
Abstract: The pump has at least two pump sections each with a suction area and a pressure area. A fluid path leads from the pressure side to consumer, and a hydraulic resistance element is set in another fluid path connecting the pressure areas. The hydraulic resistance element can be a cold start plate (17) through which the pressure areas can be separated. The pump has a radially aligned rotor (7) with slits receiving the vanes, a pressure plate (11) sealingly adjoining the end side of the rotor and a fluid connection between the pressure side of the pump and an under-vane area.
