TL;DR: In this paper, an internal-external gear pump is mounted in a stationary housing to be rotatably positionable within arcuate limits about a fixed axis eccentric to both the axes of the internal and external gears.
Abstract: An internal-external gear pump wherein the fluid displacement thereof is variable. The internal gear is rotatably driven by a drive shaft about a fixed axis and the external gear is rotatably driven by the internal gear about a controlled movable axis eccentric to the fixed axis. Movement of the external gear axis causes the eccentricity between the internal and external gear axes to vary, thereby resulting in a change in the depth of gear tooth mesh such that the volume of fluid displaced by the meshing teeth is varied. The position of the external gear axis is established by a control ring which rotatably supports the external gear, and is mounted in a stationary housing so as to be rotatably positionable within arcuate limits about a fixed axis eccentric to both the axes of the internal and external gears.

TL;DR: In this paper, a pump drive assembly for a submersible, progressing cavity pump that includes an internal hydraulic pump for slowing the counter rotation of the polished rod induced by recoil in the sucker rod is presented.
Abstract: The present invention provides a pump drive assembly for a deep well, submersible, progressing cavity pump that includes an internal hydraulic pump for slowing the counter rotation of the polished rod induced by recoil in the sucker rod. The pump drive assembly includes a housing enclosing a hydraulic fluid reservoir and a gear chamber separate from the reservoir. A drive shaft extends into the housing and includes a drive gear integral with or keyed to the drive shaft. A main shaft also extends into the housing and includes a main gear integral with or keyed to the main shaft. The main gear is engaged with the drive gear within the gear chamber, where the gear chamber includes an inlet and an outlet channel providing fluid communication between the gear chamber and the reservoir, so that the gears form a reversible gear pump within the housing. The reversible gear pump operates to pump hydraulic fluid from the reservoir into the gear chamber and back into the reservoir. During normal operation of the drive assembly, the gear pump will operate in the forward direction; but when the polished rod is caused to recoil, the gear pump will be caused to operate in the reverse direction. Therefore, the pump drive assembly also includes a flow resistor coupled to at least one of the inlet and outlet channels for retarding the flow of the hydraulic fluid when the gear pump is operating in the reverse direction, thus slowing counter-rotation of the polished rod during recoil.

TL;DR: In this paper, a pump shaft was connected with an impeller in a fixed manner, where the shaft is connected with a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine by using a continuous belt drive.
Abstract: The pump (1) has a pump shaft (4) connected with an impeller in a fixed manner, where the shaft is connected with a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine by using a continuous belt drive. A planetary gear (5) is arranged between the shaft and the drive. The planetary gear has an internal gear (7) which is connected with a drive wheel of the drive in a fixed manner. The planetary gear is coupled with an electrical driving motor (11). The motor drives a sun wheel (8) or a planet wheel carrier (9) of the planetary gear. A self-locking transmission is arranged between the motor and the gear.
