TL;DR: In this article, a taper-disc gear of continuously adjustable step-up, having a fully hydraulic generation of the pressure forces, in which the load-dependent setting of pressure force level takes place via a torque sensor which is seated on one of the gear shafts and via which the power to be transmitted by the gear is introduced into the gear and which forms for the pressure medium a throttle adjustable in a torque-dependent manner.
Abstract: What is specified is a taper-disc gear of continuously adjustable step-up, having a fully hydraulic generation of the pressure forces, in which the load-dependent setting of the pressure-force level takes place via a torque sensor which is seated on one of the gear shafts and via which the power to be transmitted by the gear is introduced into the gear and which forms for the pressure medium a throttle adjustable in a torque-dependent manner. At the same time, the torque sensor is designed so that, when torque surges occur, it can briefly introduce into the circuit a predetermined volume of pressure medium. The torque sensor is followed in the hydraulic circuit by a pressurising valve for the additional throttling of the pressure-medium flow in dependence on the step-up setting of the gear, in such a way that, altogether, a setting component dependent on torque and a setting component dependent on the step-up are added to the pressure level to be set for generating the pressure force.

TL;DR: In this article, a new cam ring profile for preventing vane bounce is proposed and its effectiveness is examined by noise tests in the passenger compartment of a real car as well as measurements of pump source flow ripple in a bench test circuit.
Abstract: In an automotive hydraulic power steering system a variable-displacement vane pump that is equipped with a control device for adjusting the eccentricity of the cam ring and thus pump delivery flow rate according to the pump rotational speed (i.e. vehicle speed) is gradually being used for energy saving in place of a fixed-displacement vane pump. However, fluid-borne noise radiating into the passenger compartment has greatly increased following this replacement, and, therefore, countermeasures to reduce pump source flow ripple have been required more than anything else to further spread its usage. This paper reports on development research of a quieter (low fluid-borne noise level) varia-ble-displacement vane pump for HPS systems. First, it is indicated based on both experimental measurements and sim-ulation analysis of pump source flow ripple that the excessive increase of fluid-borne noise produced by existing varia-ble-displacement vane pumps equipped with a cylindrical cam ring is mainly caused by vane bounce occurring in the trapping sections near the bottom dead center, which is difficult to prevent when a conventional cylindrical (completely round profile) cam ring is used. Next, a new cam ring profile for preventing vane bounce called a “modified profile cam ring” is proposed and its effectiveness is examined by noise tests in the passenger compartment of a real car as well as measurements of pump source flow ripple in a bench test circuit. The proposed cam ring is found to be successful in reducing fluid-borne noise to at least the level of a fixed pump. The newly developed types of pumps have already been put into practice in several kinds of automobiles.

TL;DR: In this paper, an extruder/gear pump assembly consisting of a screw (20) connected to a gear pump (14) is described, where the relative speed of the extruder screw and the gear pump is adjustable by means of a shaft.
Abstract: The invention concerns an extruder/gear pump assembly (10) comprising an extruder screw (20) connected to the gear pump (14) The invention is characterized in that the relative speed of the extruder screw (20) and of the gear pump (14) is adjustable by means of a shaft (64) housed in the cavity of the extruder screw (20)

TL;DR: In this article, the number of internal gears of a gear pump or a hydraulic gear motor was shown to be an even multiple of the external teeth of these gears, where the internal gears are connected by splines.
Abstract: A gear pump or a hydraulic gear motor has two pairs of meshing external gears, in which the teeth of one of the gears of each pair of gears are circumferentially displaced with respect to the teeth on the other gear of the pair. The gears arranged on the drive shaft are connected by the latter by an internal gearing, especially by splines, whereby the number of the teeth of the internal gearing is an even multiple, especially twice, the number of the external teeth of these gears.
