TL;DR: A hydraulic pump system for an automatic transmission has the advantages of preventing excessive power loss and durability deterioration as discussed by the authors, which has been shown to improve the reliability and power efficiency of the transmission.
Abstract: A hydraulic pump system for an automatic transmission has the advantages of preventing excessive power loss and durability deterioration. The hydraulic pump system may include a first hydraulic pump that generates a first hydraulic pressure to supply a low pressure portion with the first hydraulic pump, a second hydraulic pump that receives the first hydraulic pressure to generate a second hydraulic pressure higher than the first hydraulic pressure and supplies a high pressure portion with the second hydraulic pressure, and a drive portion that rotates a drive shaft that integrally connects the first hydraulic pump with the second hydraulic pump.

TL;DR: In this article, an internally meshing gear-pump or motor comprises inlet and outlet ports 27,28 for the working fluid through a sealing plate 5 mounted on the shaft 1, an externally-to-toothed gear 2 is longitudinally displaceable relative to internally-tohed gears 3,4 to vary the pump or motor displacement, a sealing member 6 is secured to the end-face of the gear 2 which separates the displacement chambers 29,30 from the varying volume spaces which may be filled by controlled working fluid formed in both longitudinal and diam
Abstract: An internally meshing gear-pump, or motor comprises inlet and outlet ports 27,28 for the working fluid through a sealing plate 5 mounted on the shaft 1, an externally-toothed gear 2 is longitudinally displaceable relative to internally-toothed gears 3,4 to vary the pump or motor displacement, a sealing member 6 is secured to the end-face of the gear 2 which separates the displacement chambers 29,30 from the varying volume spaces which may be filled by controlled working fluid formed in both longitudinal and diametrically opposite regions 11,12. When the gear 2 is moved longitudinally from the maximum displacement position to the extreme left to a reduced capacity position and thus varies the output of the pump or motor mounting these machines back-to-back or in other combinations, a continuously variable and or differential transmission of working fluid may be obtained. Additionally electrical windings 85,86 may be mounted in the casings 7,8.

TL;DR: In this article, a displacement control system for variable displacement hydraulic pumps is presented. Butts et al. present a displacement controller for a fixed displacement hydraulic pump to control the displacement of a variable displacement.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device for controlling displacement of a variable displacement hydraulic pump comprising a displacement control system for receiving a discharge pressure of the variable displacement hydraulic pump and a discharge pressure of a fixed displacement hydraulic pump to control the displacement of the variable displacement hydraulic pump. The displacement control system comprises a servopiston including a helical compression spring for maintaining the variable displacement hydraulic pump at a maximum swash angle in a neutral position of associated operating valve, a servovalve including a spool for selectively controlling communication of hydraulic pressure between a control pump and a pair of fluid chambers defined in the servopiston, a control piston connected through a control lever pivotably supported by a pivot pin to the spool and the servopiston, at least two helical compression springs for biasing the control piston and controlling torque and flow so as to approximate same to a constant torque curve, a floating spring seat interposed between the helical compression springs, and a guide rod for guiding the floating spring seat and accommodated in a bore formed in the housing at a base portion thereof to define a pressure chamber pressurized by a biasing spring, the pressure chamber being communicated through a conduit to a discharge passage of the fixed displacement hydraulic pump.
