TL;DR: A chamfer is formed in bearing blocks on either side of the hydraulic fluid inlet to prevent the build up of hydraulic pressure immediately adjacent to the hydraulic inlet below a given inlet size as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A chamfer is formed in bearing blocks on either side of the hydraulic fluid inlet. The chamfer allows a family of pumps with varying hydraulic inlet sizes to have similar bearing block pressure profiles. The chamfer prevents the build up of hydraulic pressure immediately adjacent to the hydraulic inlet below a given inlet size so that the bearing block pressure profile for a family of pumps with different inlet sizes more nearly matches the pressure profile of the largest opening used in a particular design family. The sealing gasket on the side of the bearing block opposite the gears is designed to accommodate this single pressure profile. The result is an improved bearing life and reduced slippage over an entire family of pumps or motors of similar design.

TL;DR: In this article, a gear pump includes a plurality of gear wheels rotatably retained in a pump housing and that engage in one another for the conveyance of a medium, one of the gear wheels is driven by a pump shaft, which can be coupled to a drive by means of a coupling end.
Abstract: A gear pump includes a plurality of gear wheels rotatably retained in a pump housing and that engage in one another for the conveyance of a medium. One of the gear wheels is driven by a pump shaft, which can be coupled to a drive by means of a coupling end. To maintain a uniform conveyance flow, in particular with strongly fluctuating operational pressures, during alternating load states, within a single rotation, a brake ring is disposed on the circumference of the pump shaft, which acts with at least one brake surface on a friction surface of the pump shaft or on a friction surface of the pump housing.

TL;DR: A fuel supply assembly for feeding fuel to an internal combustion engine and comprising a gear pump that includes a ring gear having inner teeth, and a pinion arranged eccentrically with respect to said ring gear and having outer teeth meshing with the inner teeth of the ring gear, defining therewith expanding and contracting chambers during operation of the pump as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A fuel supply assembly for feeding fuel to an internal combustion engine and comprising a gear pump that includes a ring gear having inner teeth, and a pinion arranged eccentrically with respect to said ring gear and having outer teeth meshing with the inner teeth of the ring gear and defining therewith expanding and contracting chambers during operation of the pump, the pump further including an outer support element for movably supporting the ring gear and including a supporting surface which engages a portion of the outer surface of the ring gear and is located radially outside of a discharge opening of the pump.

TL;DR: In this paper, a pump body with a first gear chamber and a second gear chamber, and a cover mounting to the pump body, was designed for an internal combustion engine with a check valve and a pressure relief valve.
Abstract: An oil pump for an internal combustion engine includes a pump body with a first gear chamber and a second gear chamber, and a cover mounting to the pump body. The pump also has a check valve and a pressure relief valve in fluid communication with the gear chambers. The oil pump has a supply set of intermeshing involute spur gears in the first gear chamber with nine involute teeth. A return set of intermeshing involute spur gears with the same gear profile as the supply gears is housed in the second gear chamber. Both sets of gears are driven by a common drive shaft so that the pump may be retrofitted to existing engines. The profile of the gears provides for improved pump volume without increasing angular velocity or gear diameter over gears of the prior art. The return gears are deeper than the supply gears to provide an improved supply to return flow ratio.

TL;DR: In this article, a gear pump with two wheels and adjustable engagement is used to vary the quantity of fluid pumped from inlet (5) to outlet (6), coupled to at least one of the wheels, making the adjustment.
Abstract: The casing (3) contains a gear pump with two wheels (1,2). These have adjustable engagement, to vary the quantity of fluid pumped from inlet (5) to outlet (6). A piston (8) coupled to at least one of the wheels, makes the adjustment. Piston chambers (9,10) are subjected to pressures (P9, P10), which act on the piston, through connections (11,12) with the high pressure side. A spring in the first piston chamber (9) acts on the piston, against fluid pressure (P9). A controller (15) adjusts the pressure in the second chamber (10), in accordance with a control magnitude (PR) which sets the rate of delivery.
