TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed ideas on globalization in the technosystem and focused on the paramount link between energy, the environment, and the economy, and created a challenge for economics: what implications will the change in the behaviour of (global) companies have for macroeconomic research? Should we create new concepts and new frameworks so that we can identify and interpret more correctly the changed behaviour of companies?
Abstract: This article develops ideas on globalization in the technosystem and focuses on the paramount link between energy, the environment and the economy. The present competitive turbulence reflects on the challenges that lie ahead for many global corporations. Business in the 1990s will be environment and technology driven. In world trade, we will see a shift from the primary energy sector to energy conserving conversion equipment. The world economy will be less dependent on primary energy and more dependent on the equipment and the technology to convert energy efficiently. Global warming is a fact. The goal of environmental protection must be to completely eliminate new additional output of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. To do this and other measures, global leadership in environmental protection is needed. The article also creates a challenge for economics: what implications will the change in the behaviour of (global) companies have for macroeconomic research? Should we create new concepts and new frameworks so that we can identify and interpret more correctly the changed behaviour of companies? Should we improve theoretical models, so that their explanatory power will increase? Changes in the macro-environment force companies to change their behaviour. These changes in behaviour shape the macro-environment and movements inside it. It isjustified to ask whether we need new kinds of tools for the study and comprehension of this phenomenon.

TL;DR: The notion of a global mindset has become more prominent in the context of globalization, as global organizations need to communicate their strategic intent across national borders and create synergetic affects across both cultural and strategic diversity.
Abstract: With globalization global leadership is a necessity, as global organizations need to communicate their strategic intent across national borders and create synergetic affects across both cultural and strategic diversity. As there is a larger need for understanding of cultures and surroundings different from the home-country organization, the notion of a global mindset has become more prominent.

TL;DR: The concept of cultural intelligence developed by Earley & Ang (2003) as mentioned in this paper has been widely used in the area of cross-cultural research both in academic level and managerial level and it encourages the individual and global leaders to perform effectively in cross-culture circumstances.
Abstract: In a highly globalized business environment of organization, doing business which is profitable involves crossing the boundaries which is cross cultural business and extending the business internationally become an important element for all types of organization. It can range from small scale business to large organization. This leads to a broad array of global leaders and individuals to find better jobs in abroad. This global leaders formed by globalized business milieu should have the expertise, capability and knowledge to cope with the people of diverse environment. Although there is lot of opportunities created by the globalization, equally there are challenges exposing organizational level as well as at individual level. The challenges were cultural diversity and people from different cultures are likely to behave and interact optimally in a heterogeneous cultural scenario. Some individuals function better compared to others which leads to a question “why some persons perform more efficiently compared to others in a different cultural background.” This leads to the concept of cultural intelligence developed by Earley & Ang (2003). This paper mainly reviews the concept of cultural intelligence by providing an insight on the definition and dimension of cultural intelligence. Also it examines and provides an overview of the factor affecting, potential outcomes of cultural intelligence and scale used for measuring the cultural intelligence. Through review of literature, it facilitates the body of insights especially in the area of cross cultural research both in academic level and managerial level. Also it encourage the individual and global leaders to perform effectively in cross cultural circumstances

TL;DR: The EU has a mandate to represent its Member States internationally on climate affairs and is equipped with economic and diplomatic instruments essential in climate action as discussed by the authors, and in recent years the EU sought to consolidate its position as an international climate actor.
Abstract: Fighting climate change constitutes an area in which the EU has shown considerable global leadership over the last decades. The EU has a mandate to represent its Member States internationally on climate affairs and is equipped with economic and diplomatic instruments essential in climate action. Given the urgency of climate action and the disengagement of some main polluters, in recent years the EU sought to consolidate its position as an international climate actor. In order to achieve this goal, the EU resorted to a set of foreign policy instruments meant to engage key climate players, such as China, but also American states and cities (to compensate for the lack of climate action at the US federal level). In the use of these instruments the EU showed creativity, flexibility, and ability to innovate diplomatically.
