Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the stability of the ternary compounds with cesium hydride was studied in terms of an important bonding strength between the two layers of graphite and graphene.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the electrochemical intercalation of H 2 SO 4 into graphite leads to the well known graphite salts C + n HSO − 4. χH 2 SO4 (with n → 20), χ ≈ 2.5).

TL;DR: In this paper, the coexistence of a first stage binary and a second stage ternary structures is a consequence of the elastic constraints contained in the graphene planes, and it is shown that binary structures are more stable than the second stage binary structures.
Abstract: Comparing different experiments on ternary graphite intercalation compounds, we propose that the coexistence of a first stage binary and a second stage ternary structures is a consequences of the elastic constraints contained in the graphene planes.
