Abstract: Matching models are offered as a possible solution to some of the major methodological problems presented in the research on validation of graphology. Past studies based on matching procedures are briefly summarized. An improved variation of matching based on ranking is presented, together with a report on a study conducted by the author in which such a procedure was instituted. Analyses show that raters can match, with a probability higher than chance, persons known to them with graphological reports of those persons.
