Graphologie et personnalité selon le modèle en cinq facteurs

Abstract: Considered as a personality assessment technique, graphology is defended by some but finds weak scientific base. Validation studies often suffer from methodological weaknesses. In this study, 145 participants wrote a text on a white sheet and answered the NEO PI-R, personality inventory. Having built a reliable grid of analysis of the handwriting, we correlate 13 graphological variables and 35 personality features taken from the five-factor model (FFM). After controlling sample effects, one correlation is compatible with graphology, one contradictory to it and most of them are unexpected. These results evoke type I errors and confirm the very low validity of graphology as a personality assessment technique. (C) 2008 Societe francaise de psychologie. Publie par Elsevier Masson SAS. An Algorithm to Extract Handwriting Feature for Personality Analysis

Abstract: Personality of an individual can be analyzed by their handwriting. Handwriting analysis can quickly reveal such factors as one’s character, emotions, intellect, creativity, social adjustment, your desires, fears, weaknesses, strengths, and sexual appetite among others. Features like the size of one’s handwriting, the slant, and others help in identifying the particular trait associated with the subject. A handwriting analysis report can help you gain insights into one’s own strengths and weaknesses. In this work, we suggest an algorithm to extract one of the features used in graphology, i.e., Tittle over letter i. Image Processing was used for feature extraction using MATLAB.

Handwriting Change as a Psychiatric Symptom

Abstract: Graphology is the study and analysis of handwriting especially in relation to human psychology. Many neurological disorders like apraxia and chorea can affect handwriting. Many psychiatric disorders like Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, schizophrenia are also linked with handwriting change. A unique presentation of major depressive disorder manifesting as chief complain of handwriting change was observed in a girl who had nice handwriting before depression. In spite of constant efforts she was not able to revert back to her original handwriting. Her new handwritings were different from old one in form of width and height of letters, organization and overall presentation. She was prescribed antidepressants. Depressive symptoms were relieved and her handwriting started gradually improving considerably though previous level had not been achieved. Analysis of handwriting as a tool to understand the emotional state of person can be implicated during psychiatric assessment. The written off science of graphology needs to be made specific and sensitive so that it could provide more accurate results. Further research in this area is warranted.

Handwriting Analysis Through Graphology: A Review

Abstract: Graphology assists in interpreting a person's character and identity attributes by analysing the handwriting. Graphology is the investigation of the sensible state of mind at the time of writing. These thoughtfully give understanding into the morality, hidden talents and enthusiastic conditions of the writer or artist. The handwriting is exceptional. Composing is a physical procedure. The cerebrum state is reflected in the handwriting, as the signals moves to fingers, where together they control the handwriting. Graphology can be utilized to analyse the characteristic features of an individual. The various approaches used in personality analysis using graphology are discussed in this paper.
