TL;DR: Graphologists perform a “semiotic read” of signatures, often demonstrating how writers inadvertently express their interests, affiliations or emotional issues by embedding symbols within handwritten script.
Abstract: Although semioticians routinely examine the use ofsigns and symbols in everyday life, they rarely explore symbols embedded within handwriting. Graphology, (handwriting analysis), is an academic discipline that has practitioners analyzing graphic features of handwriting in order to discern the personality of the writer. Graphologists perform a "semiotic read" of signatures, often demonstrating how writers inadvertently express their interests, affiliations or emotional issues by embedding symbols within handwritten script. Hand-writing samples are reproduced in order to demonstrate this phenomenon and to introduce the relevance of handwriting to semioticians.

TL;DR: In this article, a basic personality test was applied to the users who voluntarily participated in the study, some distinctive writing characteristics were extracted from the text samples taken from the same users, and machine learning-based prediction models were developed based on the features constructed over these font characteristics.
Abstract: In the field of graphology, the fundamental idea is to establish a connection between the handwriting style of people and their personality traits. In this study, an analysis was made on the science of graphology using machine learning and psychology. A basic personality test was applied to the users who voluntarily participated in our study, some distinctive writing characteristics were extracted from the text samples taken from the same users, and machine learning-based prediction models were developed based on the features constructed over these font characteristics. Here, the aim is to examine how successful matching can be implemented automatically from the user's writing style with regard to personality analysis. The results show that even though not very sensitive, the personality traits can be predicted to a certain extent from the writing style by the machine learning models.

TL;DR: In the introductory lecture to the journal project, I suggested some of the kinds of everyday forgettings the students might look for, such as forgetting names, not being able to correctly place a person, repetitive checking behaviors, deja vu, and the feeling of knowing as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: instructor. I usually make comments in the books about alternative wurces of the forgettings and rememberings, and examples from the journals are presented in class for discussion. In the introductory lecture to the journal project, I suggest some of the kinds of everyday forgettings the students might look for. Reed (1979) gives a partial listing of \"Everyday anomalies of recall and recognition,\" such as forgetting names, not being able to correctly place a person, repetitive checking behaviors, deja vu, and the feeling of knowing. In addition, one might mention the tip-of-the-tongue phenomenon, forgetting of intentions or plans, forgetting places and routes, forgetting of dreams or childhood experiences and examples of motivated forgettings (see chapters in Kihlstrom & Evans, 1979, for discussion of some of these). The students may also want to consider mistakes in their behav~or which occur as a result of false retrieval or retrieval failure (Norman, 1981). Two additional sources concerning everyday forgetting are Freud's Psychopathology of Everyday Life (1901/ 1966), and Neisser's Memory Observed (1 982). Little need be said here concerning the instructor's analysis of the forgettings. After collecting only a few journals, there will be examples of nearly every concept presented in a learning and memory course. One could also use the course material to suggest remedies for the forgetting problems. There are other advantages to this project. The material is intrinsically interesting to the student. One can illustrate research methodology, and point out the strengths and weaknesses of case-study and field research. Finally, the instructor will certainly get to know the students in reading about their lives outside of the class.
