Abstract: 1,160,523. Groynes. S. M. WOOD, W. G. LUCAS and W. S. RINDL. 3 Oct., 1966 [4 Oct., 1965], No. 42039/65. Heading E1H. A permeable groyne comprises a plurality of upright piles spaced lengthwise of the groyne, a plurality of beams threaded on the piles to form a wall, the construction and arrangement of the beams being such that there are a multiplicity of apertures in the wall, and a cap on the top of each pile. Fig. 3 is a cross section of a groyne formed of two parallel walls, each wall comprising longitudinal beams 32, 34, 36 and 38 threaded on piles 30 between transverse beams 33, 35, 37. 39 is a deck section. Reinforcement bars 42 in holes 40, 41 in each pile extend up to a ring 43 and are embedded in concrete which forms a cap to prevent upward displacement of the beams. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 979641.
