TL;DR: A bulletproof, shatterproof, and shock-resistant guard for the head, face, neck and upper torso of the human body is described in this paper, which can be used by soldiers, sailors, policemen, firemen, civil defense workers, guards, and others engaged in hazardous occupations.
Abstract: A bulletproof, shatterproof and shock-resistant guard to afford complete protection of the head, face, neck and upper torso of the human body. The guard incorporates an integral, transparent domelike top which is supported not by the head and neck but by the shoulders of the wearer thereby allowing unhampered head movements and unrestricted vision. As a defensive one-piece encasement for the head, neck and upper torso, the guard can be used by soldiers, sailors, policemen, firemen, civil defense workers, guards, and others engaged in hazardous occupations. In a modified embodiment the guard comprises a supplemental transparent safety hood of essentially the same construction as the basic protective piece but adapted for use by the industrial worker for protection against the impact hazards that might be encountered in a dangerous environment. The safety hood, like the basic protective piece, rests on the shoulders of the wearer, is transparent, and allows free head movement and unrestricted vision.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a football helmet with a face guard mounted on a grid of rigidly interconnected bars with a resilient coating on the face guard, which can swing in the fore and aft direction.
Abstract: The specification discloses an athletic helmet, such as a football helmet, with a face guard mounted thereon, in which the face guard is in the form of a grid of rigidly interconnected bars with a resilient coating thereon. The connector arrangement provides for pivotally connecting the face guard to the helmet at the lower front edge of the helmet so that the face guard can swing in the fore and aft direction while strap elements are provided connecting the face guard to the helmet at the sides of the helmet, and normally preventing the aforementioned fore and aft movement. The last mentioned connector elements are somewhat resilient and can be cut with a knife to permit the face guard to be swung away from the player''s face in case it is necessary to give the player emergency treatment.

TL;DR: A machine tool guard as mentioned in this paper consists of a plurality of elongated guard members each extending from a support arrangement in the direction of advance of the machine tool to form a guard therefor, each being mounted for independent reciprocation with respect to the support arrangement such that in operation they are at least partially retractable into and extensible from said support arrangement.
Abstract: A machine tool guard to guard an operative or other persons from injury by moving parts of the machine tool includes a support arrangement adapted to be mounted on a part of a machine tool which is reciprocable with advance of the tool towards a workpiece, thereby providing a compact guard closely surrounding the tool. The guard incorporates a plurality of elongated guard members each extending from said support arrangement in the direction of advance of the machine tool to form a guard therefor, the elongated guard members each being mounted for independent reciprocation with respect to said support arrangement such that in operation they are at least partially retractable into and extensible from said support arrangement. As a result the individual guard members can be made sufficiently long to effectively guard the tool while at the same time they can be retracted to permit a desired extent of advance of the tool towards or into the workpiece.

Abstract: Within the last decade high school students have gained the same legal prerogatives en joyed by any citizen under the First and Four teenth Amendments. Principals have been slow to adapt to the change. Some fear that it will destroy their ability to maintain necessary discipline. Such is not necessarily the case, says Mr. Triezenberg. He lists pitfalls to guard against if the administrator's preroga tives are to be preserved.

TL;DR: In this article, the Tuberkulinsalbe was untersucht and bei fehlender Tuber-kulinallergie BCG-geimpft wurde.
