TL;DR: A perspective of real-world problems which in theoretical investigations are often viewed as secondary issues are provided, but which in fact may be the dominant factors that dictate the guidance and control system design parameters.
Abstract: Practical design considerations for a high-altitude radar-guided air defense missile are presented. Three major contributors to miss distance are discussed—the radar signal return, the radar tracking seeker component imperfections, and the missile response limitations. At high altitude, glint may be the major contaminant in the radar signal. In addition, seeker component imperfections such as imperfect gimbal stabilization, radome refraction slope, and seeker gyro acceleration sensitivity cause stability and miss distance problems that the guidance system designer must solve. Finally, the missile response to guidance commands is limited by reduced acceleration capability, increased response time, and control fin rate saturation. The miss distance sensitivity of each of these factors is discussed and, in addition, the stability issues associated with the unwanted feedback paths created by component imperfections are addressed. Numerical examples are presented showing the significance of including practical hardware imperfections in preliminary design if performance goals at high altitude are to be met when the system is built. The paper provides a perspective of real-world problems which in theoretical investigations are often viewed as secondary issues, but which in fact may be the dominant factors that dictate the guidance and control system design parameters.

TL;DR: The current state of knowledge about the development of task guidance systems is reviewed, their potential value in a variety of domains is highlighted, and current research results in task Guidance systems are summarized.
Abstract: Procedures can greatly benefit workers at tasks such as inspection, maintenance, and assembly. Procedures may serve as a guideline for expert workers or they may provide a list of directives to be followed exactly; either way, procedures serve to structure a task, to aid worker memory, and to guarantee consistency and safety. Light, inexpensive electronics may allow for the development of task guidance systems to further help workers by presenting procedures and associated information about the task. This article reviews the current state of knowledge about the development of task guidance systems, and highlights their potential value in a variety of domains. First, the characteristics of procedural tasks are discussed, as a basis for a discussion on the benefits of procedure following that task guidance systems can support, and potential problems in procedure following that task guidance systems can mitigate. Then, current research results in task guidance systems are summarized. Finally, a discussion is...

TL;DR: In this paper, a system of providing technical guidance and instruction by utilizing two zoom lens equipped auto focus CCD cameras placed directly in front of the instructor's left and right pupils and communication networks, such as internet, is disclosed.
Abstract: There is disclosed a system of providing technical guidance and instruction by utilizing two zoom lens equipped auto focus CCD cameras placed directly in front of the instructor's left and right pupils and communication networks, such as internet. More specifically, a business system is disclosed which distributes technical guidance and instruction on medical surgeries and other highly precision oriented technical work performed in person, and/or an education guidance system which a specific client performs a medical surgery or other highly precise and technical work. In addition, the business system will have the capability of settling tuition/instruction fees which arise from providing the technical guidance and instructions, recruiting potential students, and settlement of payments to the instructors.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a medical device guidance system which includes a magnetic guidance device which generates a guidance field in an arbitrary direction to guide a capsular medical device and carry out movement and posture control.
Abstract: The medical device guidance system include a magnetic guidance device which generates a guidance field in an arbitrary direction to guide a capsular medical device and carry out movement and posture control, a position detection device which detects the present position by a magnetic field generated by the capsular medical device and a position calculating and correcting section which forms an estimation equation of an undesired magnetic field generated from a guidance coil and subtracts an estimation equation result from the detection result of the magnetic field detecting section, according to the present position of the capsular medical device that controls the position and posture by a guidance field relative to the position detection device, and corrects the present position by excluding a desired magnetic field generated from a guidance coil.
