TL;DR: Results reveal that both methods lead to reduced CO2 emissions, but that the reduction is greater with the interactive guidance system.
Abstract: The present paper deals with how to design and test an eco-driving training tool in the form of a digital educational game, including a specific guidance system interface to each eco-driving rules. We tested whether learners could reproduce the eco-driving behaviour and implement the rules once they were autonomous. We also aimed to validate the method as a relevant eco-driving teaching tool that does not distract drivers or affect safety behaviour. We examined the contribution of the guidance system to teach procedural skills compared with traditional teaching methods such as video instruction. Results reveal that both methods lead to reduced CO2 emissions, but that the reduction is greater with the interactive guidance system. Further analysis and an eye-movement study revealed no increase in driving time or effect on safety.

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple way to guide a missile in a predetermined tectory from launch to the impacting with a target for optimum warhead penetration of armor by a guided missile is presented.
Abstract: In a missile system, a simple way to guide a missile in a predetermined tectory from launch to the impacting with a target for optimum warhead penetration of armor by a guided missile. Initially, the missile is guided in yaw by proportional navigation. Subsequently it is guided in pitch first by a pitch programmer until the missile reaches a predetermined gimbal angle between a line of sight of a seeker of the missile and a centerline of the missile, then in pitch by a pseudo-time-optimal closed loop controller to direct the missile pitch attitude at a predetermined rate toward a target until said missile reaches another predetermined gimbal angle, and finally by proportional navigation in pitch of the missile to the target.

TL;DR: In this article, a comparative study of two path-following controllers developed for guiding autonomous vehicles in semi-structured outdoor environments is presented, integrating redundant encoders data and absolute positioning data provided by on-board magnetic sensors.
Abstract: This paper presents a comparative study of two path-following controllers developed for guiding autonomous vehicles in semi-structured outdoor environments. Part of this paper is focused on the performance of two path-following controllers, which are implemented using two different approaches, the first using fuzzy logic and the second using chained systems theory. The control effort and the errors magnitude along the path are evaluated in a comparative way. A magnetic guidance system for autonomous vehicles navigation in semi-structured outdoor environments is also described, integrating redundant encoders data and absolute positioning data provided by on-board magnetic sensors and magnetic markers buried in the road. Simulation and experimental results are presented showing the effectiveness of the overall control system.

TL;DR: In this article, a line-of-sight rod is treated as a collapsible rod which is connected at one end through a mechanical gimbal set, and connected at the other end by a universal joint with four degrees of freedom.
Abstract: A guidance system for directing a vehicle toward a target which includes a measurement processing section, a target state estimator, and a command processing section. The measurement processing section determines the inertial orientation and length of a line-of-sight vector which conceptually connects the vehicle with the target from measurements taken by a plurality of sensors. The target state estimator provides an estimation of the speed and angular aspect of the target relative to line-of-sight vector, by relating the vehicle and the target to each other through a mechanical conceptualization. This mechanical conceptualization treats the line-of-sight as a collapsible rod which is connected at one end through a mechanical gimbal set, and connected at the other end through a universal joint with four degrees of freedom. The command processing section generates command signals for the autopilot of the vehicle. These command signals seek to minimize the angular difference between the relative velocity vector of the vehicle with respect to the target and the line-of-sight vector to the target.
