TL;DR: The availability of commercial single antenna GPS units at low cost and discontinuation of selective availability of the system has caused increased interest in flying a stable fixed-wing aircraft using GPS alone.
Abstract: The availability of commercial single antenna GPS units at low cost and discontinuation of selective availability of the system has caused increased interest in flying a stable fixed-wing aircraft using GPS alone. Utilizing such an inexpensive sensor, along with a relatively simple processor, a flight control and guidance system could be developed that would be so inexpensive as to be practically disposable even for some commercial applications. A flight control and guidance system that can operate on single antenna GPS measurements is also a candidate as an ultimate backup mode for any uninhabited air vehicle or piloted airplane given failure of sensors. In this paper, necessary hardware and software developments are described, as well as particular solutions explored in a flight test program.

TL;DR: The present navigation guidance system adopts a force feedback joystick in order to induce the operator to evade obstacles in the omni-directional wheelchair.
Abstract: It is difficult for a novice rider to navigate an omni-directional wheelchair through a narrow space such an elevator door or a path along the wall because it is always necessary to keep in mind the width of the vehicle. Such navigation can produce stress in the operator. In those cases, a navigation guidance system that appeals to human's sensation of touch can be useful. In this paper, a novel navigation guidance system using a haptic feedback joystick is proposed for the omni-directional wheelchair. The present navigation guidance system adopts a force feedback joystick in order to induce the operator to evade obstacles.

TL;DR: In this paper, a guidance system for a drill tool consisting of a primary guidance package and a magnetic solenoid transmitter is described, where the signal generator produces a signal indicative of the location of the drill tool.
Abstract: A guidance system for a drill tool ( 1 ) comprising a primary guidance package and a magnetic solenoid transmitter ( 9 ). The primary guidance package contains signal generator. The signal generator produces a signal indicative of the location of the drill tool 1 . The magnetic solenoid transmitter both transmits the primary guidance data to a signal processor and emits an electromagnetic field. Using a locator ( 35 ), an operator can periodically determine the actual drill tool position by detecting the electromagnetic field. The actual position of the drill tool as determined by the electromagnetic field is used to correct for an integration error that is introduced into the drill tool position by the guidance technique used by the primary guidance package.
