TL;DR: The results of inhibition with horse radish peroxidase, immunoblotting and periodate treatment suggest that gum arabic sIgE of the patient and 1 SPT-positive control subject were directed to the polypeptide chains of gum arABic.
Abstract: Background: A pharmaceutical industry worker was exposed to dust of gum arabic in the tablet coating plant and complained of work-related shortness of breath, chest tightness, runny

TL;DR: In this paper, the equilibrium phase was subjected to acid hydrolysis, and evaluation of the produced monosaccharides was done by HPLC, where the composition of the coacervate phase was computed by mass balance.
Abstract: Formation of a complex coacervate between gum Arabic and chitosan produces a spontaneous separation into a coacervate (precipitated) phase coexisting with an equilibrium (soluble) phase. The relative concentrations between the polysaccharides in these two phases, is difficult to quantify. In this work, the equilibrium phase was subjected to acid hydrolysis, and evaluation of the produced monosaccharides was done by HPLC. Composition of the coacervate phase was computed by mass balance. These results were compared with those obtained previously for the same system, where the coacervate phase was analyzed by elementary analysis. Results obtained using both procedures were non-significantly different.

TL;DR: Lime was superior to rock-phosphate + dolomite in maintaining rhizobia on the pelleted seed in 1972 and in increasing the percentage of healthy plants in 1973 (1- and 16-day storage).
Abstract: The influence of two adhesives (gum arabic or methyl cellulose) and two coating materials (lime or rock-phosphate + dolomite) on both the survival of Rhizobium trifolii on the seed after inoculation and the establishment of oversown ‘Grasslands Huia’ white clover (Trifolium repens) was investigated over 2 years. With one exception (1973, 16-day storage), in which there were no significant treatment effects on the number of rhizobia per seed, gum arabic adhesive maintained higher populations of rhizobia on the pelleted seed and gave higher percentage establishment of healthy plants than methyl cellulose, after storage periods up to 16 days. Lime was superior to rock-phosphate + dolomite in maintaining rhizobia on the pelleted seed in 1972 (1-day storage) and in increasing the percentage of healthy plants in 1973 (1- and 16-day storage). Otherwise, there was no significant difference between lime and rock phosphate + dolomite. Gum arabic-lime pellets are recommended for oversown clover because they...

TL;DR: Factors affecting somatic embryogenesis from immature cotyledon of gum arabic tree [Acacia senegal (L.) Willd.] were investigated and induction of somatic embryos was influenced by plant growth regulator concentrations and addition of amino acids in medium.
Abstract: Factors affecting somatic embryogenesis from immature cotyledon of gum arabic tree [Acacia senegal (L.) Willd.] were investigated. Induction of somatic embryogenesis was influenced by plant growth regulator concentrations and addition of amino acids in medium. Best induction of somatic embryogenesis was obtained on MS medium supplemented with 0.45 μM 2, 4-D, 2.32 μM Kin and 15 mM L-glutamine. L-glutamine plays a significant role in the maturation of somatic embryos and most of embryos attained maturity only on L-glutamine (15 mM) containing medium. Maximum percent (75.0 ± 2.5) germination of somatic embryos was recorded on medium containing 0.22 μM BAP.
