TL;DR: In this article, the subject oil-and-fat composition that can be kneaded together with wheat flour, milk, egg and other cake materials and simply formed to flowers, animals with good form retention by kids themselves are baked by admixing a thickener and starch to oil and fat in a specific proportion and adjusting the specific gravity of the composition to a specific value.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject oil-and-fat composition that can be kneaded together with wheat flour, milk, egg and other cake materials and simply formed to flowers, animals with good form retention by kids themselves, when home- made cookies or the like are baked by admixing a thickener and starch to oil-and-fat in a specific proportion and adjusting the specific gravity of the composition to a specific value. SOLUTION: The objective oil-and-fat composition contains 0.1-10 wt.% of a thickener and 0.5-20 wt.% of starch and has a density of 0.50-0.85 g/ml. The thickener is polysaccharides occurring in sap as gum Arabic, polysaccharides occurring in beans as locust bean gum, polysaccharide occurring in sea algae as agar-agar, polysaccharide occurring in underground stems as devil tongue mannan and polysaccharide originating from a microorganism as xanthan gum or their suitable combination.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed determinants of choice for interlocking in the gum arabic sector in Senegal and the effect of interlocking on gum production and market participation.
Abstract: Interlocked relationships are characterised by traders’ supply of inputs and cash to producers on credit, to be reimbursed at sale time based on pre-defined prices which are often lower than the prevailing market price The study analyses determinants of choice for interlocking in the gum arabic sector in Senegal and the effect of interlocking on gum production and market participation; gum arabic is a natural exudates of Acacia Senegal trees that grow in the semi-arid lands of Africa Data from 422 gum producers in Northern and Eastern regions of Senegal are used About 45percent of respondents are involved into interlocking with village shop-owners or mobile traders Interlocking has a negative effect on prices received by gum collectors However, in the absence of effective credit markets, interlocking positively influences market participation and production as found through a two-step Heckman selection model by the provision of market assurance and safety for emergencies

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the European standards BS EN 934-2 and BS EN 480-15 to classify GA as the viscosity modifying admixture (VMA) for self compacting concrete.
Abstract: This study aims at finding alternative indigenous Sudanese material for concrete admixtures that are necessary for casting concrete in hot weather of the Sudan. The objective of this study to classify Gum Arabic (GA) namely, Acacia Senegal (known locally as Hashab Gum) as viscosity modifying admixture (VMA) for lowering powder content in self compacting concrete (SCC). The methodology of the study is based on the European standards BS EN 934-2 & BS EN 480-15 that are used as a paradigm to classify GA as the VMA. Three trial SCC test mixes containing different quantity of cement, namely (400, 370 and 350) Kg/ as powder content. A dose of GA 0.2% by weight of cement is applied after being dissolved in water at a concentration of 30% by water weight. The water/cement ratio (W/C) is kept constant as 0.45 for all mixes. The results of this study showed that the 0.2% GA dosage is appropriate and satisfied all criteria set by BS EN 934-2: 2009 for VMA. Using 0.2% GA as VMA lower the powder of SCC from 400kg to 350kg/ while maintaining the SCC fresh properties.
