TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a handshake-based inter-module interfacing with independent clock generators, where the peripheral modules can interact on a handshake basis and the CPU can operate with independent clocks.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to design a layout and to increase the degree of freedom of modules by placing a CPU and peripheral modules in operation with independent clocks and making them interact on a handshake basis. SOLUTION: The CPU 5 and peripheral modules 1-4 operate with the independent clocks ϕ0, and ϕ1-ϕ4. The clocks ϕ0-ϕ4 are generated by clock generators 6, and 14-17. Acknowledgement signals 18 for handshake interaction are outputted by all the peripheral modules, pulled up to Vcc and then wired- ORed, and inputted to the CPU module 5. Therefore, the CPU 5 and peripheral modules can operate with the independent clocks ϕ0-ϕ4, so maximum performance can be derived and inter-module interfacing is asynchronous, so the respective modules can easily be connected. Further, the performance of the whole microcomputer is affected little by the layout design of clock wiring, etc.

TL;DR: Theoretical analysis of the packet delay for this hybrid model of IEEE802.11 DCF, which simultaneously use the Stop-and-Wait CSMA/CA and 4-Way Handshake protocol, is introduced and the analytical results verified by computer simulation.
Abstract: This paper analyses a channel model of IEEE802.11 DCF,which simultaneously use the Stop-and-Wait(SW) CSMA/CA and 4-Way Handshake(4-WH) CSMA/CA protocol. Then we introduce the theoretical analysis of the packet delay for this hybrid model, calculate the packet delay and verify the analytical results by computer simulation.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for exchanging data between a first and a second functional unit is described, which comprises the following steps: in a first handshake procedure, data is exchanged corresponding to a communication thread (TID) selected by the first functional unit (I), while independently, information relating to a status of at least one communication thread is exchanged from the second (T) to the first Functional Unit (I).
Abstract: A method for exchanging data between a first and a second functional unit is described, which comprises the following steps: in a first handshake procedure, data is exchanged corresponding to a communication thread (TID) selected by the first functional unit (I), while independently in a second handshake procedure, information relating to a status of at least one communication thread is exchanged from the second (T) to the first functional unit (I). The information enables the first functional unit (I) to anticipate the possibility of exchanging data for the at least one communication thread.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose an asynchronous processing system consisting of a plurality of translation searching buffers with record items, and a pre-fetching buffer to support the translation searching buffer.
Abstract: An asynchronous processing system performs signal transmission based on a handshake protocol, and is applicable to translate a virtual memory address to a physical memory address. The asynchronous processing system comprises an asynchronous processor and a memory. The asynchronous processing system comprises a plurality of translation searching buffers with record items so as to reduce power consumption, and a pre-fetching buffer so as to support the translation searching buffers by means of a pre-fetching mechanism. Therefore, the asynchronous processing system can still improve address translation efficiency even it is under a multi-task environment. Because serial components of the asynchronous processing system can communicate with each other via the handshake protocol, the reliability and efficiency of the address translation can be increased.
