30 Dec 1998TL;DR: In this article, the ISDN subscriber terminal includes an ISDN control arrangement (1) which is connected on one side with a ISDN user interface (2) and on the other side with an analogue/digital interface (3).
Abstract: The subscriber terminal includes an ISDN subscriber control arrangement (1), which is connected on one side with an ISDN subscriber interface (2) and on the other side with a digital side an analogue/digital interface (3). There is a main control arrangement (4) which is connected with the analogue/digital interface and the ISDN subscriber control arrangement. A detection arrangement (5) is provided for the detection of the analogue dial signals which are entered at the analogue side of the analogue/digital interface. A conversion arrangement (6) is preferably provided, which converts the detected analog dial signals into a numeric sequence. The main control arrangement causes the construction of an ISDN connection to the subscriber whose subscriber number corresponds to the numerical order.

15 Oct 2008TL;DR: In contrast to the traditional approach where the data are interpreted in the time domain, this paper presents a new approach by doing most of the processing in the frequency domain, and discusses some main difficulties of this identification.
Abstract: Digital subscriber lines offer the possibility to deliver broadband services over the existing telephone network. Still, beforehand subscriber loops must be tested to see whether they can support high-speed data services, and at what bit rate. From the existing measurement techniques, Single Ended Line Testing is often preferred because all necessary measurements can be performed from the central office. Consequently the capacity cannot be measured directly, but should be calculated through the estimation of the loop make-up. This paper discusses some main difficulties of this identification. Moreover, in contrast to the traditional approach where the data are interpreted in the time domain, this paper presents a new approach by doing most of the processing in the frequency domain.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an SHDSL (Single-pair High bit rate Digital Subscriber Line) data frame processing method and device, which consists of calling a drive layer in an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) through an application layer in the FPGAs, using the drive layer to execute initialization configuration of an SHL dedicated chip, and obtaining, after the configuration is successful, a status signal that indicates the configuration was successful; and starting conversion between an original data frame and a PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) code frame
Abstract: The present application provides an SHDSL (Single-pair High bit rate Digital Subscriber Line) data frame processing method and device. The method comprises: calling a drive layer in an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) through an application layer in the FPGA, using the drive layer to execute initialization configuration of an SHDSL dedicated chip, and obtaining, after the configuration is successful, a status signal that indicates the configuration is successful; and starting conversion between an original data frame and a PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) code frame according to the status signal of the FPGA, and sending the converted PCM code to the SHDSL dedicated chip to generate a SHDSL data frame. Therefore, the SHDSL (Single-pair High bit rate Digital Subscriber Line) data frame processing method and device solve the problems in the prior art that the rate of the conversion between the original data frame and the PCM code frame is low, and that an SHDSL-related module is large in size and causes high difficulty in management and maintenance of software and hardware.

30 Dec 1992TL;DR: In this paper, only one universal subscriber line connection unit is developed, the operating mode of which is adjusted by software in dependence on the type of subscriber connected in each case, and it is used for analog and ISDN subscriber lines.
Abstract: Different subscriber line connection units have hitherto been used for analog subscriber lines and ISDN subscriber lines. This requires development and production effort for both types of assemblies. To avoid this effort, only one universal subscriber line connection unit is now developed, the operating mode of which is adjusted by software in dependence on the type of subscriber connected in each case.
