TL;DR: In this article, it is shown that the R-completion of Part I of these notes can be considered as a homotopy inverse limit, up to homophily.
Abstract: It is well known that, in general, inverse limits do not exist in the homotopy category of spaces. In this chapter we will, however: (i) (i) discuss a notion of homotopy inverse limits which gets around this difficulty, and (ii) (ii) show that, up to homotopy, the R-completion of Part I of these notes can be considered as such a homotopy inverse limit.
