Abstract: The grinding or honing element comprises a corundum abrasive, an organic or inorganic bonding agent and a filler, pref. with abrasive properties. It contains two abrasive components i.e. corundum in the form of platelets (2) and a sharp-edged granular abrasive (3). The ratio of platelet dia. to grain dia. may be between 1:1 and 5:1 pref. 2:1 or in another case may be between 1.1 and 1:10, pref. 1:3. The granular material may consist of corundum or silicon carbide. The platelets and/or grains may be coated pref. with a material having magnetic properties such as magnetite. The platelets may be orientated.

Abstract: Hard finishing technology is used to manufacture high performance gears. One hard finishing process with undefined cutting edges is gear honing. Gear honing is primarily used to hard finish small and medium sized automotive gears. Trials have shown that gears with a module larger than module m n = 4 mm can also be honed efficiently, but often problems occur due to an unstable process design. Process parameters and tool specifications have to be adjusted to receive the demanded gear quality. In this paper a model to improve the process design is described.

Abstract: The shape and accuracy of the work piece is controlled by way of the controllable electrolytic field. this process can be used as the executive means for controlling the machining in the procedure system, featured in high response frequency and high accuracy of control up to micrometers to produce a finish of 8-12 and over. Apart from the mechanical drive, the main parts in said process outfit are a cathod, a honing tool, an electrolytic solution system, a field control device, a controllable power supply and an address signal generator. Machining can be controlled according to the shape and tolerance required by the work piece or may be controlled by real-time measuring method or in situ measuring method.

Abstract: In recent years, reliability optimization allocation has drawn a broad spectrum of attentions, especially for complex systems consisting of a large number of subsystems and components. Hydraulic system, deemed as a complex system, plays a great role in reliability increment of the CNC honing machine. In order to realize the CNC honing machine tool’s balanced operating performance, the crucial hydraulic system is designed to obtain the optimal and well-balanced allocation solution under the constrains of cost and reliability. Meanwhile, the quantified operating factor that influences the allocation solution is rarely considered adequately when operating samples are insufficient. So, if hydraulic systems are used in a new required longer operating mission duration or a new severer operating environment, the dissatisfied reliability could not be better reallocated to adapt to this environment with appropriate methods.
