TL;DR: In this paper, a method for the fine machining of internal surfaces of bore holes in tools by fine-boring and subsequent honing is described, and the following steps are executed: fine boring of at least one bore hole ( 131 ) in a tool ( 130 ) by means of a fine boring tool ( 128 ) of a finetuning device ( 120 ) for the creation of fine bored hole; transfer of the tool to a machining position of a honing device ( 140 ) for machining the fine bored bore hole; measurement of the fine bore hole with
Abstract: According to a method for the fine machining of internal surfaces of bore holes in tools by fine boring and subsequent honing, the following steps are executed: Fine boring of at least one bore hole ( 131 ) in a tool ( 130 ) by means of a fine boring tool ( 128 ) of a fine boring device ( 120 ) for the creation of a fine bored hole; Transfer of the tool to a machining position of a honing device ( 140 ) for the machining of the fine bored bore hole by means of a honing tool ( 148 A) of the honing device; Measurement of the fine bored bore hole with one of the measurement devices ( 160 ) allocated to the honing device in the machining position for the creation of at least one bore hole measurement signal representing the properties of the fine bored bore hole. The fine boring device is controlled subject to the bore hole measuring signal.

TL;DR: The annular working surfaces of cast-iron laps in a two-lap lapping or honing machine are redressed by three or more redressing units each having an abrading ring surrounded by and secured to a gear which constitutes the planet pinion of a planetary transmission as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The annular working surfaces of cast-iron laps in a two-lap lapping or honing machine are redressed by three or more redressing units each having an abrading ring surrounded by and secured to a gear which constitutes the planet pinion of a planetary transmission. The redressing units can be used interchangeably with gear-shaped workholders and their rings remove material from the working surfaces when the gears are rotated about their respective axes while the laps rotate in opposite directions.

TL;DR: In this paper, a micro-welding process is used to apply erosion and wear resistant coatings to the internal diameter of gun barrels, which are then treated by methods such as honing and/or rotary forging.
Abstract: A micro-welding process is used to apply erosion and wear resistant coatings to the internal diameter of gun barrels. The applied coatings are then treated by methods such as honing and/or rotary forging. The protective micro-welded coatings may comprise ceramic, cermet and/or refractory metal materials, and may be used with rifled or smooth gun barrels of various sizes.

TL;DR: In this paper, a model based on microscopic scans of tool topographies is presented to simulate material removal during the process by taking force-controlled honing operations into account, which can reduce surface roughness values, enhance the shape accuracy of bores and shafts, and create surface topographies with improved functional properties.
