TL;DR: In this article, the inner surface of the tubular material being pre-cut into a tubular shape using a honing machine is further polished with a sheet material having diamond abrasives attached thereon.
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a polishing method for producing, in a relatively short period of time, a tubular brittle material having an inner surface of high surface precision with a maximum roughness Rmax of 01 µm or smaller and a center line average roughness Ra of 001 µm or smaller, and to provide a tubular brittle material with high precision using said polishing method The polishing method according to the invention is characterized by that the inner surface of the tubular material being pre-cut into a tubular shape using a honing machine is further polished with a sheet material having diamond abrasives attached thereon Also claimed is a tubular brittle material obtained by said polishing method

TL;DR: Simulation results show that when the working temperature is less than the optimum value, complex parameter measurement is needed to meet the honing high dimensional accuracy and high shape precision and high automation requirements.
Abstract: In honing online pneumatic measurement, the actual working conditions of honing have not been taken into account. While honing and online measurement of aerodynamic working environment is relatively small semi closed annular narrow space, various parameters will influence the movement characteristics of the measurement of gas, gas does not consider the previous online honing the actual working conditions of the dynamic measurement accuracy is hard to guarantee, does not meet the requirement of automatic processing of high precision. Through the combination of theoretical research and simulation experiment, through the study of honing, pneumatic measurement and aerodynamics, the characteristic equations of three working conditions under honing actual working conditions are obtained. Using fluid simulation software FLUENT to the actual working parameters of honing pneumatic measuring mechanism model is simulated, simulation results show that when the working temperature is less than the optimum value, to achieve amplification and linear range, complex parameter measurement, to meet the honing high dimensional accuracy and high shape precision and high automation requirements.

TL;DR: In this paper, a mechanical processing technique for a cylinder jacket consisting of rough machining, rough honing of an inner hole and finishing machining is described. But this technique is not suitable for the case of cylinders.
Abstract: The invention provides a mechanical processing technique for a cylinder jacket. The mechanical processing technique comprises the following steps: rough machining, rough honing of an inner hole and finishing machining. The step of rough honing of the inner hole is moved after the step of rough machining and before the step of finishing machining, and is carried out after the step of finish boring or finish reaming, so that the grinding head in the rough honing step can be used for honing the inner hole of the cylinder jacket under lower expansion-contraction pressure, so as to achieve the purposes of removing the surplus of the surface of the inner hole of the cylinder jacket and modifying the shape error of the inner surface. The precision of the honed inner hole is high, the error is greatly reduced, so that the error of finish turning of the excircle or the supporting shoulder in the finishing machining step can be greatly reduced, the error superposition in the finishing machining step can be basically stopped at the beginning, therefore, the precision of the inner circle and the excircle of the cylinder jacket is improved, and the finally obtained cylinder jacket can meet the standards.

TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus and method for sharpening, sharpening or grinding a curved peripheral cutting surface of a slicer blade is described. But the method is performed off-line of the slicer equipment in order to minimize downtime and sanitation operations.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for honing, sharpening or grinding a curved peripheral cutting surface of a slicer blade are provided. Included is the use of one of a set of interchangeable cams that generally follows the curved shape of the blade cutting surface, whether same has a constant radius or varying radii. In order to minimize downtime and sanitation operations, the honing is accomplished off-line of the slicer equipment. Preferably, the slicer blade remains perfectly flat during honing, and the movement of one or more honing or grinding wheels is closely controlled so as to provide honed or ground cutting edges which are of substantially uniform width throughout their respective peripheries. Honing is accomplished in accordance with objectively measured sharpness standards by which superior sharpness levels are attained.

TL;DR: In this paper, a multiple spindle honing machine is described, which includes automatically controlled feed cylinders for initially expanding tools driven by the spindles and also includes a constant rate feed mechanism that continues to expand the tools after the initial expansion actuated by the feed cylinders.
Abstract: A multiple spindle honing machine of the disclosure includes automatically controlled feed cylinders for initially expanding honing tools driven by the spindles and also includes a constant rate feed mechanism that continues to expand the tools after the initial expansion actuated by the feed cylinders. Each spindle includes a connector that extends between one of the feed cylinders and its associated honing tool. Mechanical locks respectively lock first threaded members of the connectors after the initial tool expansion. Second threaded members of the connectors are unthreaded from the first members thereof by an actuating member, preferably embodied by the gear rack, of the constant rate feed mechanism so as to continue the tool expansion and completion of honing operation. Electrical and hydraulic circuits control operation of the pressure feed cylinders, the constant rate feed mechanism, and the mechanical locks. Each honing tool is automatically contracted independently of the other tools after the bore being machined thereby reaches the required size and, after all of the tools are contracted, the feed cylinders may be actuated to re-expand the tools for a finishing operation.
