TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative analysis of ECH and pulsed electrochemical honing (PECH) for quality enhancement of straight bevel gears is presented focusing on tooth flank finish and microgeometry.
Abstract: This paper presents a comparative analysis of constant-current electrochemical honing (ECH) and pulsed electrochemical honing (PECH) for quality enhancement of straight bevel gears. The quality of straight bevel gears after finishing by ECH and PECH is compared focusing on tooth flank finish and microgeometry. Tooth flank finish was evaluated in terms of percentage enhancement in average roughness value, maximum roughness value, and 5-point roughness value. Percentage enhancements in pitch error, pitch variation error, accumulated pitch error, and total runout were used to evaluate the microgeometry of the bevel gears. It was found that the PECH process is capable of simultaneously enhancing the tooth flank finish and microgeometry of bevel gears by more than 50% as compared with ECH-finished bevel gears. The PECH-finished gears also exhibited superior microstructure as compared with ECH-finished gears. These improvements will enhance the service life and working performance of gears.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a method to produce a tool (3) which ensures an optimized work result with respect to manufacturing precision and also allows the shaping of the tool to be varied with the largest possible design freedom.
Abstract: The invention makes it possible, in a simple and cost-effective manner, to produce a honing tool (3) which ensures an optimized work result with respect to manufacturing precision and which also allows the shaping of the honing tool to be varied with the largest possible design freedom. For this purpose, according to the invention: a) a honing tool (3) is provided, the profile of which is unfinished; b) the honing tool (3) having the unfinished profile is chucked in a holder (2) of a honing machine (1) which is intended to hold the honing tool (3) while a workpiece is honed; c) a profiling tool (8) is chucked in the workpiece spindle (4) of the honing machine (1), and d) the profiling tool (8) and the honing tool (3) are oriented and moved relative to one another such that the profiling tool (3) engages with the honing tool (3) and on the honing tool (3) replicates the toothing profile (7) required for honing the toothing of the workpiece.

TL;DR: In this paper, a process for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a roughened substrate surface by wet honing the substrate surface with a composition including deionized water and substantially spherical glass beads is described.
Abstract: A process for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a roughened substrate surface by wet honing the substrate surface with a composition including deionized water and substantially spherical glass beads. The process produces a photoreceptor substrate that eliminates interference fringe effects caused by reflection of coherent light without creating other printing defects such as white or black spots. A wet honing composition for producing such photoreceptors is also provided.

TL;DR: In this paper, a flexible version of the helical slide method is used to remove traces of inversions in a linear trajectory with large radii and high cutting speed, which promotes the removal of material thus saving time.
Abstract: The paper discusses a flexible honing technology by describing the new prototype machine with its specificity. Three original methods produced by the flexible honing prototype have been studied. A path combines the two contemporary methods of industrial honing: the helical slide honing at 135° at the bottom of the cylinder and the conventional honing at 45° on the upper part. This method of honing shows the effectiveness of specific motion tracking to remove traces of inversions. Circular trajectories with large radii can be traveled quickly without consuming too much energy. The high cutting speed promotes the removal of material thus saving time. Finally, the multi-circle paths can get original textures thus proving the feasibility of all patterns.

TL;DR: In this paper, a self-sharpening sintered abrasive material has been used to stabilize the processing efficiency and increase the abrasive materials usage rate, which can be used in processing processes such as grinding, grinding and polishing, honing and saw-cutting.
Abstract: The invention discloses a preparation method and a use of a self-sharpening sintered abrasive material. The preparation method is characterized in that the excellent sintered abrasive material is prepared by processes such as metering needed raw materials in percentage by weight, mixing the raw materials, cementing the raw materials, crushing the raw materials, grading the raw materials, sintering the raw materials and post-processing the raw materials. The sintered abrasive material has proper self-sharpening property, so that large sintered particles does not drop entirely in a grinding process; a binding agent among small raw material particles inside the sintered abrasive material has fatigue rupture, loses efficiency and is further crushed, so that the original small abrasive particles constituting the sintered abrasive material drop one by one. The sintered abrasive material provided by the invention has good self-sharpening property, is beneficial for stabilizing the processing efficiency and increasing an abrasive material usage rate, can be used in processing processes such as grinding, grinding and polishing, honing and saw-cutting, also can be used for preparing finished product tools such as a grinding wheel, a grinding mat, a honing head and a saw blade. The method provided by the invention has the advantages of being simple in process, high in yield, low in cost and the like.
