TL;DR: In this article, two hydraulic pressure intensifiers are coupled in parallel between a source of hydraulic fluid at relatively low pressure and an output path, and each intensifier provides a pressurizing stroke in only one direction of linear reciprocation.
Abstract: Two hydraulic pressure intensifiers are coupled in parallel between a source of hydraulic fluid at relatively low pressure and an output path. Each intensifier provides a pressurizing stroke in only one direction of linear reciprocation. The intensifiers are so operated, under the control of a hydraulic circuit, as to create a tendency for an initial portion of the pressurizing stroke of each of the intensifiers to overlap a final portion of a preceding pressurizing stroke of the other intensifier, and thereby to deliver high pressure hydraulic fluid to the output path simultaneously with continuing delivery from such other intensifier. Such simultaneous delivery does not actually occur, however, since the hydraulic circuit is so arranged that the delivery of high pressure hydraulic fluid from each intensifier to the output line can begin only upon a falling off in the pressure provided by the other intensifier. Meanwhile, as soon as the pressure in the hydraulic fluid flowing from such other intensifier to the output line begins to fall off, such flow at decreasing pressure is interrupted. A surge-free flow of hydraulic fluid at a relatively high pressure is, thus, continuously present in the output line.

Abstract: A skid steer loader comprising an improved loader main frame and including an operator's compartment designed to present a low profile vehicle particularly suitable for low clearance applications. A improved hydraulic system for the vehicle includes a new arrangement of an implement pump interconnected with the hydraulic drive pumps of the steering system of the vehicle. An internal connection between the drive pumps and the implement pump substantially improves the flow of hydraulic fluid through the system by providing an internal passage for flow of excess hydraulic fluid from a drive pump to the implement pump to supply the implement pump with inlet fluid.

TL;DR: A closed rigid tank stores oil or other liquid for use in operating hydraulic jacks or other fluid-driven devices as discussed by the authors, where a flexible bladder within the tank is coupled to a source of compressed air and to an air pressure regulator.
Abstract: A closed rigid tank stores oil or other liquid for use in operating hydraulic jacks or other fluid-driven devices. A flexible bladder within the tank is coupled to a source of compressed air and to an air pressure regulator in order to maintain a constant positive pressure in the tank as the bladder expands and contracts in response to the withdrawal and return of oil. The sealed regulated pressure tank may be smaller, lighter and less costly than the tank structures heretofore used in hydraulic systems and the construction is more adaptable to variations in tank shape and location relative to other system components. Fluid lines which connect the tank and fluid pump may be smaller and the total volume of oil required for the hydraulic system may be reduced.

Abstract: A hydraulic system having pilot line fluid feedback from a fluid motor to valving which operates to change pump output to compensate for motor demand includes a pressure regulator valve for maintaining a predetermined minimum pressure in the pilot line. The pressure regulator valve eliminates the power wasting pressure differential which normally exists between the pump output and the fluid motor demand in demand compensated hydraulic systems.

TL;DR: In this article, a hydraulic system includes a fluid responsive means that controls the effective output of the pump in response to pressurization of signal fluid that is supplied by the pump.
Abstract: A hydraulic system includes a fluid responsive means that controls the effective output of the pump in response to pressurization of signal fluid that is supplied by the pump. The signal fluid is pressurized by flowing through a synthetic signal generator and on into a fluid motor in opposition to the working pressure therein. This signal fluid is directed to the fluid motor by the directional control valve when the directional control valve is in an operating position; and it is directed to a sump by the directional control valve when the directional control valve is in a standby position. The present invention provides pressure actuated means to divert or occlude this signal fluid from the directional control valve except when the directional control valve provides a load sensing flow path which communicates this signal fluid to the fluid motor.

TL;DR: The magnetically-controlled pressure regulating valve for hydraulic actuators operates with only a small vol. of oil in order to control larger volumes of hydraulic oil in the main mechanism.
Abstract: The magnetically-controlled pressure regulating valve for hydraulic actuators operates with only a small vol. of oil in order to control larger volumes of hydraulic oil in the main mechanism. The output press. is directly proportional to the electric control signal input and is independent of variations in the supply oil pressure. Feed oil is supplied to a chamber surrounding the lower part of the main piston and flows through a drilling and choke orifice to a pre-control chamber above the piston. Return flow from this chamber is controlled by the needle valve operated by an electromagnet mounted above the valve. The return feed pipe is connected to a chamber surrounding the upper part of the piston and to the main return pipeline. The piston has a central cross-drilling corresponding with the edges of the two circular chambers.

Abstract: An automotive vehicle has an automatic transmission to which fluid is supplied from a source through a control valve having a body which is displaceable to control the flow of the fluid to the load constituted by this tranmission. A plurality of binarily stepped pilot faces are provided on one side of the valve body and the other side is connectable to the source of fluid pressure. TL;DR: In this article, a pull-type harvesting machine in the form of a baler has a vertically adjustable windrow pickup mechanism and a generally fore-and-aft laterally swingable tongue that connects the baler to a towing tractor.
Abstract: A pull-type harvesting machine in the form of a baler has a vertically adjustable windrow pickup mechanism and a generally fore-and-aft laterally swingable tongue that connects the baler to a towing tractor, lateral adjustment of the tongue causing the baler to shift between a transport position behind the tractor and an operating position wherein the pickup mechanism is disposed outwardly of the tractor. The positions of the tongue and the header are respectively controlled by a pair of two-way hydraulic cylinders, and the flow of pressurized fluid between the cylinders and the tractor hydraulic system is controlled by a single control valve on the tractor, the cylinders being connected in parallel. A pair of solenoid-actuated valves are disposed in the hydraulic lines on the opposite sides of the cylinder that controls the tongue, the solenoid valves being powered by the tractor electrical system and controlled by a switch on the tractor so that the operator can selectively lock out the tongue control cylinder, whereby the pickup mechanism and the tongue can simultaneously be adjusted from their transport to their operating condition or the pickup mechanism can be vertically adjusted independent of the tongue.
