TL;DR: A combination of a first surface treating solution comprising an inorganic or organic alkali such as ammonia or a quaternary ammonium hydroxide, hydrogen peroxide, water and a second surface treatment solution of ultra-pure water is effective for making semiconductor surfaces free from harmful metallic impurities such as Fe, Al, Zn, etc as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A combination of a first surface treating solution comprising an inorganic or organic alkali such as ammonia or a quaternary ammonium hydroxide, hydrogen peroxide, water and a second surface treating solution of ultra-pure water, at least one of the first and second surface treating solutions containing as a complexing agent a compound having one or more phosphonic acid groups in the molecule and showing chelating ability, or an oxidized form thereof, or polyphosphoric acid or a salt thereof, is effective for making semiconductor surfaces free from harmful metallic impurities such as Fe, Al, Zn, etc.

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study concerning the use of Ti-containing molecular sieves with MFI (TS-1), BEA (Ti-beta) and MCM-41 (TiMCM--41) topologies for the styrene oxidation in liquid phase by hydrogen peroxide was performed.
Abstract: A comparative study concerning the use of Ti-containing molecular sieves with MFI (TS-1), BEA (Ti-beta) and MCM-41 (TiMCM-41) topologies for the styrene oxidation in liquid phase by hydrogen peroxide was performed. The major reactions were epoxidation of styrene, the isomerization of styrene oxide into phenylacetaldehyde (PhAA) as well as its oxidative cleavage into benzaldehyde (BzA) and formaldehyde. A high selectivity to PhAA was observed over TS-1, whereas the BzA formation is predominant on Ti-beta and TiMCM-41. Also, the influence of the reaction time and the nature of solvent on the styrene conversion, the selectivity of hydrogen peroxide consumption and on the product distribution were studied.

TL;DR: Although all these peroxides were inactive either as initiators or as complete carcinogens, lauroyl peroxide was as effective as benzoyl peroxide when used as a skin tumor promoter in a two-stage carcinogenesis protocol, and hydrogen peroxide proved to be a very weak skin tumors promoter.

TL;DR: This chapter talks about the hydrogen peroxide in hepatic microsomes, a method that fulfills some requirements and allows to determine possible degradation of H 2 O 2 by residual catalase-, peroxidase-, or NADPH-dependent mixed-function oxygenase activity.
Abstract: Publisher Summary This chapter talks about the hydrogen peroxide in hepatic microsomes. H 2 O 2 determination in microsomes is dependent on a method that fulfills some requirements. Those requirements are (1) it is sensitive enough to permit determination of 1 μM H 2 O 2 without interfering with monooxygenase-dependent hydroxylation reactions, (2) allows to eliminate the influence of various substrates or products of mixed-function oxidation reactions, (3) permits inhibition of contaminating catalase so that during an incubation period measurements not only of small steady-state concentrations, but also of rate and extent of H 2 O 2 formation are possible, and (4) allows to determine possible degradation of H 2 O 2 by residual catalase-, peroxidase-, or NADPH-dependent mixed-function oxygenase activity. The reason that in the presence of sodium azide H 2 O 2 accumulates and is subjected to further metabolism by pathways other than catalase, for example NADPH-dependent mixed-function oxygenase, the trapping of H 2 O 2 as HCHO by the addition of exogenous catalase and methanol avoids such degradation. Under circumstances where H 2 O 2 accumulates, the measurements of rate and extent of H 2 O 2 formation in microsomes can vary depending on the method applied.

TL;DR: This review examines the contemporary concepts for how hydrogen peroxide is sensed and transduced into a biological response by introducing post-translational oxidative modifications on select proteins, focusing on CAMKII, PKA, and PKG, kinases whose redox regulation has notable impact on cardiovascular function.
Abstract: Significance: Oxidants were once principally considered perpetrators of injury and disease. However, this has become an antiquated view, with cumulative evidence showing that the oxidant hydrogen peroxide serves as a signaling molecule. Hydrogen peroxide carries vital information about the redox state of the cell and is crucial for homeostatic regulation during health and adaptation to stress. Recent Advances: In this review, we examine the contemporary concepts for how hydrogen peroxide is sensed and transduced into a biological response by introducing post-translational oxidative modifications on select proteins. Oxidant sensing and signaling by kinases are of particular importance as they integrate oxidant signals into phospho-regulated pathways. We focus on CAMKII, PKA, and PKG, kinases whose redox regulation has notable impact on cardiovascular function. Critical Issues: In addition, we examine the mechanism for regulating intracellular hydrogen peroxide, considering the net concentrations t...
