TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic field and the levitation force produced by a rotor with alternating magnetic poles in a magnetic fluid hydrostatic bearing are numerically evaluated using a 3D-FEM program, MagNet 5.0.
Abstract: The magnetic field and the levitation force produced by a rotor with alternating magnetic poles in a magnetic fluid hydrostatic bearing is numerically evaluated. For the magnetic field computation has used a 3D-FEM program, MagNet 5.0 and for the numerical evaluation of the levitation force the MatLab program has been used.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of chemical and hydrostatic pressure on BaF2 crystal was studied by simulating Ba1−xMexF2 mixed crystals (Me=Ca, Sr), and the dependence of the absorption and luminescence zero-phonon line shift on the Eu2+-ligand distance was calculated.
Abstract: The effect of hydrostatic pressure on a BaF2 crystal was studied within the shell model in the pair-wise potential approximation. The structural phase transition from the cubic to orthorhombic phase was simulated. The behavior of the unit-cell parameters of the α-and β-BaF2 phases under hydrostatic pressure (from 0 to 12 GPa) was investigated. The fundamental vibration frequencies of BaF2 under hydrostatic pressure (0–3.5 GPa) were calculated for both phases. The effect of chemical pressure on the BaF2 crystal was studied by simulating Ba1−x
MexF2 mixed crystals (Me=Ca, Sr). It was shown that at impurity concentrations up to 15–20 at. % the lattice constant varies in the same way as it does when hydrostatic pressure increases to P
c
, which corresponds to a phase transition to the orthorhombic phase. The effect of chemical and hydrostatic pressure on BaF2: Eu2+ doped crystals was also studied. The dependence of the absorption and luminescence zero-phonon line shift on the Eu2+-ligand distance was calculated.

19 Sep 2011TL;DR: The results indicate that auxiliary-hole position impacts a noticeable influence on thermal deformation of hydrostatic bearing rotation-workbench, which could provide theoretical basis for structure design of Hydrostatic bearing and ravel out the thermalDeformation problem.
Abstract: According to the structure of heavy hydrostatic bearing rotation-workbench which is applied in heavy equipment, thermal deformation equations of the structure are deduced and boundary conditions for numerical simulation are established based on thermal elasticity theory. Thermal deformation of hydrostatic bearing rotation-workbench is calculated at different auxiliary-hole position. The results indicate that: auxiliary-hole position impacts a noticeable influence on thermal deformation of hydrostatic bearing rotation-workbench. Auxiliary-hole should be set at approximate 3/10 between maximum and minimum distance which is between the center and outer side of workbench. Meanwhile, that also should avoid setting auxiliary-hole near circumstance stiffened plate. The conclusions from thermal deformation calculation could provide theoretical basis for structure design of hydrostatic bearing and ravel out the thermal deformation problem.

TL;DR: Theoretical analysis of dynamic tracking and leakage characteristics of a self-centering, hydrostatic, stepped gas seal is presented in this article, taking into account shaft speed and whirl, pressure ratio across the seal, fluid film properties and face friction effects.
Abstract: Theoretical analysis of dynamic tracking and leakage characteristics of a self-centering, hydrostatic, stepped gas seal is presented. The equations of motion are solved numerically, taking into account shaft speed and whirl, pressure ratio across the seal, fluid film properties and face friction effects. The analysis is limtied to low axial Reynolds numbers and negligible tangential hydrodynamic pressure buildup. Became the model neglects azimuthal pressure gradients, the analyzed seals must be either axially short or limited to small eccentricities. An analytical tracking criterion is established for high pressure ratios for preliminary design purposes. Presented at the 43rd Annual Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio May 9–12, 1988
