TL;DR: An automatic field motion image synthesis scheme (driven by speech) and a real-time image synthesis design are presented to realize an intelligent human-machine interface or intelligent communication system with talking head images.
Abstract: An automatic field motion image synthesis scheme (driven by speech) and a real-time image synthesis design are presented. The purpose of this research is to realize an intelligent human-machine interface or intelligent communication system with talking head images. A human face is reconstructed on the display of a terminal using a 3-D surface model and texture mapping technique. Facial motion images are synthesized naturally by transformation of the lattice points on 3-D wire frames. Two driving motion methods, a text-to-image conversion scheme and a voice-to-image conversion scheme, are proposed. In the first method, the synthesized head image can appear to speak some given words and phrases naturally. In the second case, some mouth and jaw motions can be synthesized in synchronization with voice signals from a speaker. Facial expressions other than mouth shape and jaw position can be added at any moment, so it is easy to make the facial model appear angry, to smile, to appear sad, etc., by special modification rules. These schemes were implemented on a parallel image computer system. A real-time image synthesizer was able to generate facial motion images on the display at a TV image video rate. >

TL;DR: In this paper, translation handles are set on vertices of a conversion source image frame by a mouse, and the image within the frame is operated in accordance with the shape of the translation frame.
Abstract: Translation handles are set on vertices of a conversion source image frame by a mouse. Frame move processing, enlargement/reduction processing, rotation processing, and deforming processing are performed in accordance with the number and positions of the set translation handles. The image within the frame is operated in accordance with the shape of the conversion source image frame, and the operated image is displayed within the conversion destination image frame. In geometric conversion which requires enlargement/reduction and rotation and preserves parallelism of lines, image conversion is performed by one processing including addition instructions and not including multiplication and division calculations.

Abstract: Image conversion method and apparatus that provides for (a) storing in a first memory a first image field; (b) storing in a second memory a second image field; (c) reading the first and the second memories; (d) simultaneously displaying on a display screen the first and the second image fields as a single image frame; and (e) while performing the step of reading the method includes a step of storing in a third memory a third image field. The first, second and third memories are provided as a frame buffer having a 3x3 memory block organization. For image fields numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...n.. the system of the invention reads the image fields two at a time in accordance with a predetermined sequence given by: 1 and 2, 2 and 3, 3 and 4, 4 and 5, ... (n - 1) and n, n and (n + 1). A high resolution frame length is selected to be longer than or shorter than a television field period. The phase difference between the two is measured and circuitry alters the predetermined read-out sequence to ensure that a field memory to be read will not also be required for simultaneously storing a next television field.

TL;DR: In this article, the degradation of resolution and attenuation by enlarging an X-ray image is minimized by subjecting the same image to image conversion, where the electron beam is accelerated by a uniform magnetic field to form electron beam image Q1 near an anode.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To lessen the degradation of resolution and attenuation by once enlarging an X-ray image, then subjecting the same to image conversion. CONSTITUTION:An X-ray is projected onto a sample surface via a 1st X-ray optical element 12 such as X-ray condenser lens and the X-ray image obtd. therefrom is macro-imaged on an X-ray conversion part in a vacuum vessel by the 2nd X-ray optical element 15 such as X-ray objective lens. The electron beams corresponding to the X-ray image is released by a photoelectric surface 18c of the X-ray conversion part 18. The electron beam is accelerated by a uniform magnetic field to form electron beam image Q1 near an anode. The electron beam image Q1 is macro-imaged by an electron lens 20 to form an electron beam image Q2. The electron beam image corresponding to the observation image of a sample is detected by a microchannel plate 22. The attenuation of the X-ray is thereby decreased and the degradation of the resolution by the influence of an aberration is lessened.

The means 64 reads out graphic data indicating the reference library of the data storage means 61 and sends the read data to the reading/writing means 63. In case of applying the image conversion processing to the reference library, the reference library is read out from a memory card 7 by the means 63 and displayed on an image display part 6 by a graphic control means 62 and data on the memory card 7 can be changed by applying a required change to the reference library plotted on the image display part 6. TL;DR: In this article, the gray image data, which may be definable at several bits per pixel, is then made print-ready by reducing (16) the number of bits defining each pixel to a valid output state, which is accomplished through error diffusion methods that maintain the local area gray density level.
Abstract: A method of image conversion takes an original print ready image at a first resolution scaling and orientation, and simulates printing that image by creating (12) a representation of a page at the particular resolution, scaling and orientation. The image is then periodically sampled (14) through the page with an aperture that corresponds to the desired output. Because the resolution, scaling and/or orientation of the "print" and "scan" are distinct, the aperture "sees" areas which may correspond to more than a single pixel on the original image, and thereby may derive a signal that is gray, i.e., the aperture may see an area that is neither completely black or white, and the image data derived will be considered gray. The gray image data, which may be definable at several bits per pixel, is then made print-ready by reducing (16) the number of bits defining each pixel to a valid output state (0, 1 for a typical binary printer, 0, 1, 2, 3 for a quaternary printer, etc.). The reduction step is accomplished through error diffusion methods that maintain the local area gray density level. In color applications, each of the bitmaps representing a color separation, be it 2, 3, 4 or any other number, is treated independently with the same method.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose to transfer a document efficiently by storing inputted code information into a file after being converted into image information of the facsimile standard corresponding to an image displayed on a screen of a display device.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To transfer a document efficiently by storing inputted code information into a file after being converted into image information of the facsimile standard corresponding to an image displayed on a screen of a display device. CONSTITUTION:An input processing section 1A is a section which inputs, edits, and stores a transmission original and applies a command input of a transmission destination and the name of the transmission original or the like and consists of a distribution input means 1-1, a code image conversion means 1-2, an image processing edit means 1-3, and an image storage registration means 1-4. The code image conversion means 1-2 reads sequentially the code information from a data file 11 with code information stored therein, converts it into image information having the resolution for the GIII standard facsimile equipment and stores the information into an image tentative storage section 3-1. When the image information stored in the image tentative storage section 3-1 is processed and edited, the image tentative storage section 3-1 is activated and the new image information after the edit is stored again in the image tentative storage section 3-1. Thus the code information is sent to a facsimile equipment at a remote location.
