Abstract: To realize image conversion processing by means of filtering using a multi-tap structure without requiring that a memory to use has a high-speed capability, a merge circuit 102 merges sampled input image signals for every plurality pieces of continuous pixel data and outputs signals, and a memory element 103 stores approximately one frame of output data from the merge circuit 102. The memory element 103 outputs signals to a memory element 104 in accordance with outputs from a memory element 107 which stores control data which are calculated in advance. The memory element 104 stores a larger number of input signals received from the memory element 103 than the number of taps of a filtering circuit 106, and outputs signals to a selection circuit 105. The selection circuit 105 selects signals required by the filtering circuit 106 from input signals received from the memory element 104 and outputs signals to the filtering circuit 106. The filtering circuit 106 generates output image signals, using input signals received from the selection circuit 105.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute an image corrected so that it can be displayed with appropriate picture quality complying with the type of terminal at a distribution destination without being conscious of the display device of the terminal at the distribution destination. SOLUTION: An image conversion and distribution server 1 receives the image which is photographed by a cellular telephone 31 at a distribution origin being a terminal at the distribution origin and whose distribution is requested as the image before distribution through a network 2 and stores the image in a distributed image storage section 12. The information input section 13 of the terminal at the distribution destination inputs information on the terminal at the distribution destination obtained from the cellular telephone 32 at the distribution destination and transfers the information to a distributed image generation processing section 11. The section 11 conducts image correction processing complying with the feature of each image and image correction processing suitable for every type of the cellular telephone 32 is performed with image correction parameter information adapted to the display device of the cellular telephone 32 on the basis of the information on the terminal at the distribution destination to generate the image for distribution. The picture for distribution is distributed through the network 2 to the cellular telephone 32 at the distribution destination from a picture transmission section 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

SOLUTION: An image reproducing device is provided with an image conversion means for converting images stored in a memory to the images for display to be displayed at a display part and storing them, a cache memory for storing the images for the display converted by the image conversion means, and a cache control means for displaying the image for the display in the cache memory corresponding to a requested image at the display part in the case that the display is requested for a desired image among the images stored in the memory.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An image conversion apparatus and an image conversion method are provided to offer clear gray image about the same color values. CONSTITUTION: A color space converter(122) converts the color component into a color space including a brightness component. A contrast generator(124) creates color contrast values by using the difference of chroma component and the brightness component. Color contrast values are created by using the difference of the brightness component and the chroma component among the pixels which are converted by the color space converter. A gray image generator(126) creates a grey image by using the created color contrast values.
