TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an image converter for reproducing image data degraded in image quality without impairing the merit of a high-quality image data as much as possible, which includes an image converting part 115 configured to sequentially acquire frame image groups each comprising one or more frames from the beginning of recorded image data 111, and generate mobile image data 112 by converting the image frame groups in a direction of degrading the image quality thereof.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image converter for reproducing image data degraded in image quality without impairing the merit of a high-quality image data as much as possible. SOLUTION: The image converter includes: an image converting part 115 configured to sequentially acquire frame image groups each comprising one or more frames from the beginning of recorded image data 111, and generate mobile image data 112 by converting the image frame groups in a direction of degrading the image quality thereof; and a scene determination part 116 configured to determine whether to preserve the image frame groups with high image quality based on a predetermined condition. When the scene determination part 116 determines that the image frame groups are to be preserved with high image quality, the image conversion part 115 stores the image frame groups in the mobile image data 112 with high image quality. Thereby, since the image quality of a necessary part is improved while reducing the volume of the mobile image data 112, a high-definition image can be provided to a user even when it is enlarged or the like. TL;DR: The experimental results show that the reconstruction accuracy of the proposed single frame solar speckle image reconstruction method is not less than that of the traditional algorithm, but in the time efficiency of the algorithm, it has more advantages than thetraditional algorithm.
Abstract: High resolution reconstruction of solar speckle image is an important research subject in astronomy and solar physics. The common method uses the statistical information of a group of low-resolution images to reconstruct a high-resolution image through a specific algorithm. When this method is applied to the reconstruction of solar speckle image, the calculation process is complex and the reconstruction time is long because of the large amount of short-term obtained data. In this paper, based on the idea of image to image conversion, the single frame solar speckle image reconstruction method is proposed by using the generative adversarial networks (GAN), and the mapping from solar image to high-resolution image is established by using the cycle generative adversarial networks (CycleGAN). Due to the lack of high-frequency information in single frame speckle image, perceptual loss is introduced in CycleGAN to solve the problem of too smooth image reconstruction and lack of details. Combined with cycle consistent loss and perceptual loss, the quality of reconstructed image is improved. The experimental results show that the reconstruction accuracy of the proposed method is not less than that of the traditional algorithm, but in the time efficiency of the algorithm, it has more advantages than the traditional algorithm.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a microscope imaging apparatus for easily setting a monochromatic conversion coefficient suitable for a microscope inspecting method without performing specific image processing, such as image processing.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope imaging apparatus for easily setting a monochromatic conversion coefficient suitable for a microscope inspecting method without performing specific image processing. SOLUTION: The microscope imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging means for outputting a microscope observation image as a color image; a coefficient setting means for setting the color images/monochromatic image conversion coefficient conformed to the selected microscope inspecting method; and an image conversion means for converting the color image into a monochromatic image by applying the set color image/monochromatic image conversion coefficient. TL;DR: In this paper, a learning apparatus for image conversion processing for converting an image output from the imaging element into higher image quality is presented. But it is only applicable to a learning environment.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert an image signal output from an imaging element into a higher-quality image signal. SOLUTION: An image of a test chart 113 is projected on a CCD sensor 117. The CCD sensor 117 is replaced as required by a CCD sensor replacer 121, and image signals for a number of CCD sensors 117 are stored in a memory 120. A prediction coefficient for correcting the image signals output from the CCD sensor is calculated on the basis of the image signals stored in the memory 120. This apparatus is applicable to a learning apparatus for learning a prediction coefficient for image conversion processing for converting an image output from the imaging element into higher image quality. TL;DR: In this paper, the sampling intervals for digitizing the analog image signal are set to satisfy formula Ts≦Na /2 v, wherein Na represents the pitch (m) of the cells in the main scanning direction and v represents the scanning speed (m/sec).
Abstract: A radiation image conversion panel has a stimulable phosphor layer which is parted into a plurality of cells regularly arranged at least in a main scanning direction by a partition wall and has been exposed to a radiation bearing a radiation image of an object. The radiation image conversion panel is scanned by a stimulating light beam in the main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction and stimulated emission emitted from the radiation image conversion panel upon stimulation by the stimulating light beam is photoelectrically detected to make up an analog image signal and a digital image signal representing a radiation image of the object is obtained by digitizing the analog image signal. The sampling intervals Ts (in seconds) for digitizing the analog image signal are set to satisfy formula Ts≦Na /2 v, wherein Na represents the pitch (m) of the cells in the main scanning direction and v represents the scanning speed (m/sec)
