TL;DR: In this article, an image processing system for obtaining an image where a subject is normally directed, regardless of the posture of a system, is presented. But the problem is not addressed in this paper.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image where a subject is normally directed, regardless of the posture of a system.SOLUTION: An image processing system 100 includes: a housing 101; a posture detection part 140 for detecting whether the posture of the housing 101 is a vertical posture or not; an imaging part 110 for imaging a subject and outputting a picked-up image; an image conversion part 122 for rotating the picked-up image so as to allow the length and the width of the image to be inverted and further reducing the picked-up image to be converted into a length-width conversion image of the same size as the picked-up image; a recording and reproducing part 123 for recording image data generated based on the picked-up image; and a control part 125 for controlling the image conversion part 122 and the recording and reproducing part 123 so as to generate the image data, based on the length-width conversion image in place of the picked-up image, when the posture of the housing 101 is the vertical posture.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a stereoscopic image imaging apparatus capable of imaging an object at a wide field angle through a comparatively simple, compact and lightweight lens configuration even when a distance up to the object is short.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image imaging apparatus capable of imaging an object at a wide field angle through a comparatively simple, compact and lightweight lens configuration even when a distance up to the object is short. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatuses 3, 3' respectively having equidistant projection lenses 2, 2' perform imaging. Images obtained by the imaging apparatuses 3, 3' are respectively given to projection conversion circuits 4, 4', wherein image conversion is performed and the same image as an image imaged by using a center projection lens can be obtained. A stereo measurement circuit 5 calculates outputs from the projection conversion circuits 4, 4' to obtain positional information of the object 1 and provide an output. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

TL;DR: In this article, the shadow bits in digital signal of image scanned are sent to computer, subsequent processing and output are carried out for the digital signal and outputting converted result by using third gamma curve.
Abstract: After shadow bits in digital signal of image scanned are sent to computer, subsequent processing and output are carried out for the digital signal. The invented image processing method includes at least following steps: converting analog signal of image in scanner to digital signal; next, enhancing shadow bits by using first gamma curve; through bus, transferring digital signal to computer; then, reversing digital signal by using second gamma curve; carrying out image processing for digital signal; finally, carrying out image conversion for digital signal and outputting converted result by using third gamma curve.

TL;DR: In this paper, an image processing device consisting of an image acquisition part which acquires a photographic image having a first spatial resolution, a distance acquisition part that acquires depth information having a second spatial resolution having a resolution lower than the first spatialresolution, and an image recognition part which extracts an area including a three-dimensional object area corresponding to a 3D object in the photographic image was proposed to provide a precise viewpoint conversion image by using distance information with a low spatial resolution.
Abstract: To provide a precise viewpoint conversion image by using distance information with a low spatial resolution.SOLUTION: An image processing device comprises: an image acquisition part which acquires a photographic image having a first spatial resolution; a distance acquisition part which acquires a distance image being depth information having a second spatial resolution having a resolution lower than the first spatial resolution; an image recognition part which extracts an area including a three-dimensional object area corresponding to a three-dimensional object in the photographic image; a distance calculation part which calculates depth information of the three-dimensional object area on the basis of the distance image; a correction part which corrects coordinate transformation information for coordinate transformation of the photographic image on the basis of the depth information of the three-dimensional object area calculated by the distance calculation part; and a viewpoint conversion image generation part which generates a viewpoint conversion image obtained by the coordinate transformation of the photographic image by using the coordinate transformation information corrected by the correction part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

TL;DR: In this paper, an area extract circuit is used to extract a pixel block of a prescribed area from a received SD image and give it to a class code retrieval circuit 2 and a prediction arithmetic circuit 21 respectively.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image quality of a generated HD image in the converter that converts an SD image into an HD image. SOLUTION: Area extract circuits 1, 5 extract a pixel block of a prescribed area from a received SD image and give it to a class code retrieval circuit 2 and a prediction arithmetic circuit 21 respectively. The class code retrieval circuit 2 retrieves a class code of a black, to which the pixel block extracted by the area extract circuit 1 and gives the code to a ROM 20. The ROM 20 stores a prediction equation calculated by a genetic algorithm and outputs a prediction equation, corresponding to the received class code. The prediction arithmetic circuit 21 substitutes data x0 -xn of the pixel block extracted by the area extract circuit 5 to the prediction equation read from the ROM 20, so as to generate corresponding HD image data and output the data.
