TL;DR: This paper presents an algorithm for bi-cubic interpolation of pixel values on a hexagonal structure when convert from the hexagon structure to the square structure and experimental results show that the bi-Cubics interpolation outperforms theBi-linear interpolation for most of testing images at the cost of slower and more complex computation.
Abstract: Hexagonal image structure represents an image as a collection of hexagonal pixels rather than square pixels in the traditional image structure. However, all the existing hardware for capturing image and for displaying image are produced based on square pixel image structure. Therefore, it becomes important to find a proper software approach to mimic the hexagonal structure so that images represented on the traditional square structure can be smoothly converted from or to the images on the hexagonal structure. For accurate image processing, it is critical to best maintain the image resolution during the image conversion. In this paper, we present an algorithm for bi-cubic interpolation of pixel values on a hexagonal structure when convert from the hexagonal structure to the square structure. We will compare with the results obtained through bi-linear interpolation for the conversion. Our experimental results show that the bi-cubic interpolation outperforms the bi-linear interpolation for most of testing images at the cost of slower and more complex computation.

TL;DR: In this article, the problem of whether or not an SD signal received by the image conversion system of this invention is a standard signal in compliance with the NTSC standards is discriminated on the basis of a discrimination signal received from a three-dimensional YC separation device.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image signal conversion method by which occurrence of a difference from line numbers between fields of a converted HD signal can be suppressed. SOLUTION: Whether or not an SD signal received by the image conversion system of this invention is a standard signal in compliance with the NTSC standards is discriminated on the basis of a discrimination signal received from a three-dimensional YC separation device in a step S1. In the case that the received SD signal is discriminated to be the standard signal, a standard system is decided for the synchronization system in a step S2. On the contrary, in the case that the received SD signal is discriminated to be no standard signal in the step S1, a non-standard system is decided for the synchronization system in a step S3.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a watermark embedding device consisting of an image conversion module, a random number seed generator, a core module and an image reply module, where the image conversion modules carry out color separation on an original certificate image to obtain a pixel retrieving component and a residual pixel component, and converts the pixel retrieving components into frequency domain data comprising a plurality of Fourier coefficients.
Abstract: The invention provides a watermark embedding device. The device comprises an image conversion module, a random number seed generator, a core module and an image reply module, wherein the image conversion module carries out color separation on an original certificate image to obtain a pixel retrieving component and a residual pixel component, and converts the pixel retrieving component into frequency domain data comprising a plurality of Fourier coefficients; the random number seed generator performs logical operation according to the certificate number and a cryptographic key to obtain a random number seed; the core module selects a part of Fourier coefficients as a plurality of embedding points according to the random number seed, and increases values of the Fourier coefficients of the embedding points to obtain watermark embedded frequency domain data; and the image reply module processes images to obtain a watermark embedded certificate image. Therefore, the watermark embedding device is a unique effective technology capable of stopping certificate counterfeiting at present.

TL;DR: In this article, an image pattern creation method includes the steps of applying a reference pattern to a first solid object having the same shape feature and the same scale as a solid object, acquiring three-dimensional information and texture information for the first one, and then projecting the texture information to a second solid object on a plane with the same two-dimensional coordinate system as the reference pattern.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create an accurate image pattern for obtaining, from texture drawn on a surface of a real solid object, the identical texture through transfer to a solid object having the same shape feature.SOLUTION: An image pattern creation method includes the steps of applying a reference pattern to a first solid object having the same shape feature and the same scale as a solid object, acquiring three-dimensional information and texture information for the first solid object, acquiring three-dimensional information and texture information for a second solid object which has the same shape feature as the first solid object and with which texture is drawn on the surface thereof, acquiring image conversion information for converting corresponding points between the reference pattern and the texture information for the first solid object, acquiring three-dimensional coordinate transform information for performing transformation between the three-dimensional information for the first solid object and the three-dimensional information for the second solid object, and using the acquired information to produce an image pattern by projecting the texture information for the second solid object on a plane having the same two-dimensional coordinate system as the reference pattern.
