Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reading a radiation image which can obtain the radiation image high in image quality even in the case of using a radiation image conversion panel having a stimulable phosphor layer indicating large layer thickness variation only one one side. SOLUTION: This method for reading he radiation image from the radiation image conversion panel by using a line scanning reading method comprises: a process (1) using the radiation image conversion panel having the rectangular stimulable phosphor layer in which thickness variation in a direction along one side is smaller than thickness variation in a direction extended rectangularly to the size and arranging the radiation image conversion panel so that the side of the direction in which the thickness variation of the stimulable phosphor layer is small is made parallel with the length direction of a line sensor; and a process (2) for controlling a distance between the radiation image conversion panel and the line sensor so that converged stimulated phosphorescent light which is varied in accordance with relative movement between the radiation image panel and a photodetecting means is focused on the light receiving surface of the line sensor. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which predicts information of changing with time such as settlement of a coloring material in an image forming system using such the coloring material as a pigment, corrects it by image conversion and suppresses changing in concentration, and to provide an apparatus for controlling formation of an image. SOLUTION: The image forming method comprises an inputting process for inputting an image signal, a converting process for converting the image signal to an outputting signal, and an image forming process for forming an image on a recording medium with the coloring material in accordance with the outputting signal. The image forming method also comprises an information acquiring process for acquiring history information related to the image formation or usage information based on using condition used for the image formation. The image forming method predicts changing of an outputting color based on at least one information obtained by the information acquiring process, and determines the outputting signal converted based on the converting process prepared in advance. In addition, it is realized that the printing concentration changing by a leaving condition of the image forming apparatus can be held approximately constant by the converting process by changing the converting process thereafter based on the acquiring information by the information acquiring process. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image conversion system capable of reducing the number of gamma tables, and capable of lightening a post-processing. SOLUTION: The image conversion system converts an input image data into an output image data through a gamma conversion processing. The image conversion system has a selection means for selecting the gamma table for a gamma-conversion processing corresponding to the kinds of the specified output image. The input image data are read by a scanner, and the selection means for selecting the gamma table may also be set to a scanner driver. A color-matched image is used as the kind of the output image, and the image conversion system may also have a plurality of the gamma tables so as to correspond to a different image output device. Abstract: An area selection processing apparatus for displaying a selected area and an unselected area of an image are provided. The apparatus includes a first image buffer that temporarily stores a target image currently being displayed, an image convertor that converts the target image through an image conversion method, a second image buffer that temporarily stores the target image converted through the image convertor, an area selection determining unit that determines whether an area is selected for the target image, and an area selection processor that processes the target images such that the corresponding selected area of the target image stored in the first image buffer is displayed for the selected area, and the corresponding unselected area of the converted image stored in the second image buffer is displayed for the unselected area, when the area selection determining unit determines that the specific area is selected.
