TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method to eliminate interference fringe in a protective film concerning an X-ray image converter which has a new digital radiography system replacing the conventional medical radio-graph, especially an Xray image conversion sheet using an accelerated photophorescence as memory medium.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate interference fringe in a protective film concerning an X-ray image converter which has a new digital radiography system replacing the conventional medical radio-graph, especially an X-ray image conversion sheet using an accelerated photophorescence as memory medium. CONSTITUTION:A X-ray image conversion sheet 1 produced by laminating a phosphor layer 12 and a protective film 13 on a support 11 is used as memory medium, excitation light 2 emitted from a light source 3 is focused onto the phosphor layer 12 with a focusing lens 4 and an accelerated phosphoroesecnce of the phosphor layer 12 is excited to read an image stored. In an X-ray image converter thus arranged, a product of the numerical aperture NA of the focusing lens 4 and the thickness of a protective film 13 formed on the phosphor layer 12 is made larger than 0.1mm or 0.1mm.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle detection apparatus and method for an AVM system.SOLUTION: This invention relates to an obstacle detection apparatus and method for an AVM system. The obstacle detection apparatus includes: an image storage part for storing an image captured through a camera; an image conversion part which converts a view of the image stored in the image storage part to generate a view conversion image corresponding to each image; a cross area extraction part which compares view conversion images for two images captured at different times to extract a cross area between the view conversion images; a mismatch area detection part which detects a mismatch area in the cross area by calculating a mismatch degree of cross area between the view conversion images; and an obstacle warning part which recognizes the mismatch area as an obstacle area and displays a position of an obstacle via a display of a vehicle.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a moving image decoder that includes an acquisition unit for acquiring compression RAW moving image data, a decoding unit, and an image conversion unit to improve the compression encoding efficiency.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decode a RAW moving image with compression encoding efficiency improved furthermore.SOLUTION: The moving image decoder includes an acquisition unit for acquiring compression RAW moving image data, a decoding unit, and an image conversion unit. The compression RAW moving image data is obtained by separating a first pixel group corresponding to the first color component of odd row and a second pixel group corresponding to the first color component of even row of each frame, respectively, for a plurality of frames where pixels of three different color components are periodically arranged according to two row two column color arrangement, and performing intra-image prediction encoding compression of a first image including the first pixel group and a second image including the second pixel group while arranging alternately in the time axis direction. The decoding section decodes the compression RAW moving image data. The image conversion unit rearranges the first image and second image of the decoded RAW moving image data according to the color arrangement.

TL;DR: Sophisticated signal processing algorithms are studied for some static image format conversion problems without motion dependence to eliminate blurring, flickering, and information loss in operations such as zooming, aspect ratio change, and progressive-to-interlace conversion.
Abstract: The requirements and taxonomy of still image conversion problems for advanced multimedia applications are indicated. Sophisticated signal processing algorithms are studied for some static image format conversion problems without motion dependence. The main quality problems in this area are identified, and improved algorithms are proposed. These algorithms are designed from the perceptual point of view to eliminate blurring, flickering, and information loss in operations such as zooming, aspect ratio change, and progressive-to-interlace conversion. Test results confirm the improved performance of these algorithms compared with the existing methods. >
