TL;DR: In this paper, a threshold value of a high-frequency component which becomes unnecessary by the image data contraction processing is calculated according to the ratio of the image size before contraction with respect to the image image size after the contraction.
Abstract: An image conversion device for contracting image data with an arbitrary reduction ratio by removing an unnecessary high-frequency component according to the reduction ratio, thereby preventing image deterioration after the contraction. In this device, a threshold value of a high-frequency component which becomes unnecessary by the image data contraction processing is calculated according to the ratio of the image size before contraction with respect to the image size after the contraction (210), a high-frequency component of the image data is removed by using the calculated threshold value (202), and the data from which the high-frequency component has been removed is subjected to a contraction processing (204).

TL;DR: In this paper, the selection of an weighted coefficient for the image conversion of a converted image materix based on the intensity of converted matrix element was proposed. But the selection was not carried out in this paper.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To surely correct a scattered radiation effect in an X-ray image by determining the selection of an weighted coefficient for the image conversion of a converted image materix based on the intensity of a converted matrix element. CONSTITUTION: An object 8 is irradiated with X rays radiated from a rotating anode 3 constituting an X-ray tube 1 through a collimetor 7. A part of X-rays deviated from the irradiation direction of X-rays on the inlet screen 11 of an image tube is shielded by a scattered radiation grating 10 and an image carrying X-ray beam 5 is converted into an image carrying optical beam 13 in the image tube 9. Then a semi-transparent mirror 15 separates the optical beam 13 into a part to be formed as an image on a photographic film by a camera 17 and a part to be converted into a video signal by a TV camera 19, the video signal is digitized by an A/D converter 21 and a correction circuit 22 removes a scattered radiation effect from the video signal. Then the corrected video signal is displayed on a TV monitor.

TL;DR: In this paper, a digital image conversion unit and a method for manufacturing a PCB are provided to extract a Gerber format file of a partial area desired by a user without image conversion of the entire reference model.
Abstract: PURPOSE: A digital image conversion unit and a method for manufacturing a PCB are provided to extract a Gerber format file of a partial area desired by a user without image conversion of the entire reference model. CONSTITUTION: A partial area of a photo plot file for generation of a reference model is set(210). Data of an object included in the set partial area from the photo plot file is extracted(220). A partial image about the reference model is generated by converting the extracted data(230). The photo plot file includes commands to generate a PCB image file. [Reference numerals] (210) Setting a partial area of a photo plot file for generation of a reference model; (220) Extracting data of an object included in the partial area from the photo plot file; (230) Generating a partial image about the reference model by converting the extracted data; (AA) Start; (BB) End

TL;DR: According to one embodiment of the present invention, an operation quantity can be reduced in comparison to a prior art, and thus hardware having low complexity can be implemented.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image conversion device and an image conversion method therefor. The disclosed image conversion method comprises the steps of: dividing a low-resolution image so as to generate a plurality of low-resolution image patches having N (wherein N is a natural number of 2 or more) pixels; classifying the plurality of low-resolution image patches into a plurality of image categories; converting the plurality of low-resolution image patches by using a conversion kernel corresponding to each image category among a plurality of prestored conversion matrices, so as to generate a plurality of high-resolution image patches having L (wherein L is a natural number) pixels, which is less than N pixels; and arranging the plurality of high-resolution image patches so as to generate a high-resolution image. According to one embodiment of the present invention, an operation quantity can be reduced in comparison to a prior art, and thus hardware having low complexity can be implemented. In addition, a high quality and high-resolution image can be generated regardless of characteristic information of an image signal.

TL;DR: In this article, a robot acquires an omnidirectional image 170 by means of a camera and converts it to a polyhedral image 190 by projecting pixels of the image onto any of the enlarged parallel surfaces 168 forming the polyhedral images.
Abstract: In the present invention, a robot acquires an omnidirectional image 170 by means of an omnidirectional camera, and converts the omnidirectional image 170 to a polyhedral image 190. Pixels of the omnidirectional image 170 are projected onto any of the enlarged parallel surfaces 168 forming the polyhedral image 190. By subjecting the multiple enlarged parallel surfaces 168 included in the polyhedral image 190 to an image recognition process, the robot recognizes the external environment, and the behavior characteristics of the robot are changed in accordance with the recognition result. An image conversion unit of the robot sets, as the polyhedral image 190, a collection of images wherein the imaging surface is a rhombicuboctahedron covering the robot from above.
