TL;DR: In this paper, a man-conveyer without passenger residence is realized by setting a residence detecting region for detecting passenger residence for an image inputted by image input means, and by calling attention with a guide means when an object exists in the detecting region more than a designated time.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize operation of a man-conveyer without passenger residence by setting a residence detecting region for detecting passenger residence for an image inputted by an image input means, and by calling attention with a guide means when an object exists in the residence detecting region more than a designated time. SOLUTION: During operation of a man-conveyer, an image processing device 3a is started, takes in an image at a doorway with a camera 1a, sets a residence detecting region based on this image, and records the information. It photographs a background image to record it, and performs differential process between the present image and the recorded background image, and converts the differential process result to a binary image with an image conversion circuit 104. Using the binary image after noise removal, a histogram process circuit 105 creates x-axis and y-axis projection distributions. Then, it judges extent of traffic on the man-conveyer from area of a step region, calculates the in-region residence time, and when residence's occurrence is judged, performs attention guidance with a guiding device 22a.

TL;DR: In this paper, a color image 2 is converted from a value in an RGB color space being a camera output into an L*a*b* uniform color space in matching with a human sense.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable flexible inspection by converting RGB value at each point into a coordinate at each corresponding point in a uniform color space and calculating contrast of each point of a color image of an object to be inspected through the use of the coordinate at each corresponding point in the uniform color space. SOLUTION: A color image 2 is converted from a value in an RGB color space being a camera output into a value in an L*a*b* uniform color space in matching with a human sense. A clustering of a reference image is conducted in the L*a*b* uniform color space by the K-average method designating in advance a cluster number and the gravity center of each cluster is obtained. Then the L*a*b* value corresponding to the coordinate of each point in the RGB system color space is calculated and the contrast with respect to the L*a*b* value is calculated, based on the L*a*b* value and the cluster gravity center position. Then the contrast with respect to each coordinate of the RGB system is stored in a lookup table LUT 8. In this inspection processing, the LUT 8 is referenced to the photographed color image of the object to be inspected to obtain the contrast image.

TL;DR: In this paper, a search system using images is provided in which when a user does not know a relevant URL or search keyword correctly while surfing the Internet, he or she can search a desired website using only an image.
Abstract: A search system using images is provided in which when a user does not know a relevant URL or search keyword correctly while surfing the Internet, he or she can search a desired website using only an image. The search system using images according to the present invention comprises an image search server and a user terminal. The image search system comprises: an image conversion section for converting the image included in the website information and the to-be-searched image uploaded by the user into search format images; an image search section for comparing eigen values of both the to-be-searched image uploaded by the user and the search image included in the website information and detecting the website information having a matching eigen value; and a storage section for storing the detected website information, the image included in the website information, and information regarding eigen values.

TL;DR: In this article, a radiation image conversion panel is described, which provides high luminance, an image without white or black defects, and an image free from cracks and reduced unevenness.
Abstract: Disclosed are a radiation image conversion panel, which provides high luminance, an image without white or black defects, an image free from cracks and an image with reduced unevenness, and its manufacturing method. Also disclosed is an X-ray radiographic system employing the radiation image conversion panel. The radiation image conversion panel of the invention comprises a substrate and provided thereon, a reflection layer, a phosphor layer and a protective layer in that order, wherein the phosphor layer is composed of a phosphor crystal in the form of column, and the reflection layer is formed by vapor phase deposition of two or more kinds of metals.

TL;DR: In this paper, an image conversion unit (100) for converting an input image into an output image is disclosed, which comprises: first computing means (104) for computing a first weighted sum of a first group of pixel values.
Abstract: An image conversion unit (100) for converting an input image into an output image is disclosed. The image conversion unit (100) comprises: first computing means (104) for computing a first weighted sum of a first group of pixel values, the first group of pixel values corresponding to pixels of the input image; second computing means (102) for computing a second weighted sum of a second group of interpolated values, the second group of interpolated values being computed by means of interpolation for spatial locations which are not present at the sampling grid of the input image; combining means (106) for computing a third sum by combining the first weighted sum and the second weighted sum; and clipping means (108) for clipping the third sum between a minimum value and a maximum value, the minimum value and the maximum value derived from pixel values of the input image.
