Abstract: Provided are an image conversion apparatus, a camera, an image conversion method, and a program, wherein a panorama image can be partially enlarged or reduced, while maintaining the characteristics of the panorama image in that images can be joined into a cylindrical shape, or in that a wide range (up to 360 degrees) can be observed simultaneously. This image conversion apparatus adopts a configuration wherein the image conversion apparatus is provided with: an image input unit that inputs a panorama image; and an image enlargement/reduction unit that enlarges/reduces the panorama image by making the enlargement ratio of the desired area within the panorama image different in a way that will make the enlargement ratio change successively at successive areas of the panorama image. In this configuration, the image enlargement/reduction unit enlarges/reduces the image such that the width, in the longitudinal direction of the panorama image, of the image after the enlargement/reduction will fit into the original panorama image.

Abstract: In general, the three main modules of color image classification systems are: color-to-grayscale image conversion, feature extraction and classification. The color-to-grayscale image conversion is the important pre-processing step which must incorporate the significant and discriminative contrast and structure information in the converted grayscale images as in the original color image. All the existing techniques for color-to-grayscale image conversion preserves the significant contrast and structure information in the converted grayscale images in different manners. Hence, the present work is to analyze the significant and discriminative contrast and structure information preserved in the converted grayscale images using two different decolorization techniques called rgb2gray and singular value decomposition based color-to-grayscale image conversion (SVD) applied in the color image classification systems using the three different proposed features. The three different features for color image classification systems are proposed based on the combination of the existing dense SIFT features and the contrast & structure content computed using color-to-gray structure similarity index (C2G-SSIM) metric.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method and a device for fast searching, positioning and identifying an image object of a JPG image. The traditional method firstly converts the JPG image into a BMP image and then carrying out searching, positioning and identifying on the BMP image. Different from the traditional method, for an image object with obvious visual characteristics, by using the obvious low-frequency information of the image object, the method searches and positions the image object by utilizing frequency domain information when obtaining the image frequency domain information in the process of conversion from the JPG image into a BMP image, and converts an positioned image object area into a partial BMP image, and identifies the image object on the partial BMP image. The method and the device effectively combines the image conversion process from the JPG image to the BMP image with the object searching process carries out by utilizing the frequency domain information, greatly increases the searching and positioning speed of the image object and greatly reduces the calculated amount in the whole identifying process by partially converting the image object area into the BMP image and identifying on the BMP image, thereby obtaining the obviously effects of high seed and high efficiency.
