TL;DR: In this paper, a sub-image which is the most characteristic to each image is extracted and combined with a memo data to provide a clear clue to the image extraction, and the number of specified sub-images is freely increased without rewriting original image data stored in an image file and image retrievel is settled by using a memo image and a cutout subimage both having a less amount of data than the entire image.
Abstract: Image retrieval method and apparatus wherein for retrieval of a plurality of images, a sub-image of each image is specified and extracted, reference data such as memo data related to each sub-image is stored, and the sub-image and the memo data related thereto are combined and outputted as desired, thereby simplifying the retrieval of the plurality of images. Specifically, a sub-image which is the most characteristic to each image is extracted and combined with a memo data to thereby provide a clear clue to the image extraction. The number of specified sub-images is freely increased without rewriting original image data stored in an image file and image retrievel is settled by using a memo image and a cutout sub-image both having a less amount of data than the entire image, so that applications to a storage medium which is not rewritable, for example, an optical disc can be ensured with high response image display.

TL;DR: In this paper, a picture image file device for storing original documents such as drawings as a Picture Image File (PIF) is described, in which the original documents are stored in a fixed number of picture image units and when another original document is inputted, the contents of which have been changed partially from the first-mentioned original document are stored as new picture image unit in the picture image storing section.
Abstract: A picture image file device for storing original documents such as drawings as a picture image file, characterized in that said device is provided with a picture image storing section for storing in a picture image file a predetermined number of picture image units obtained by dividing the picture image file into the predetermined number and a signal processing section in which when another original document, the contents of which have been changed partially from the first-mentioned original document, is inputted, the changed original document is divided into the predetermined number of picture image units and the divisions of the changed original document are compared with the picture image unit so that only the parts of the original document having changed contents are stored as new picture image units in the picture image storing section.

TL;DR: An image processing system contains an original reader for reading an original image, low and high speed printers, an operating station with a microcomputer, an internal memory and an external memory, an image file, a microfilm reader and a visual display unit as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: An image-processing system contains an original reader for reading an original image, low and high-speed printers, an operating station with a microcomputer, an internal memory and an external memory, an image file, a microfilm reader and a visual display unit. If a selected printer requires a pixel density which is different from that of the information entered, the pixel density of the image information which has been entered is changed, after which the image information is then output using the selected printer.

TL;DR: In this paper, a document/image file management system connected to a printer attribute is proposed to execute a processing with regard to a document and image data in a related data base.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To execute a processing with regard to a document/image data, too, in a related data base by providing a document/image file management system connected to a printer attribute. CONSTITUTION: A command inputted by a terminal work station is analyzed by a command analyzing part 2. Subsequently, by a related operation processing part 3, an operation to a relation table stored in a large capacity magnetic disk device 4 is executed in accordance with an operation processing procedure, a result of the operation is analyzed by a result analyzing part 6, and a processing procedure of an image data is generated. Also, by an image file managing part 7, a processing operation to a document/image data stored in an optical disk device 8 is executed in accordance with the processing procedure. Subsequently, the document/image data based on a result of the processing is transferred to a terminal work station 1 by a result transfer part 5, and an ouptut display is executed. TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose to register the data of a seal to be registered efficiently by compressing image data in an image existing area detected by an image data size detecting device and segmenting the compressed data to stored the data in image file together with an address.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To register the data of a seal to be registered efficiently by compressing image data in an image existing area detected by an image data size detecting device and segmenting the compressed data to stored the data in an image file together with an address CONSTITUTION:When the operator inputs the account No of a registered slip 10 from a keyboard 20, the sealing of the slip 10 is photoelectrically converted and the image data are entered in an image buffer 12 The data in the buffer 12 are preprocessed by a preprocessing circuit 13 to extract a seal image existing area and send and store the extracted area to/in a seal image size storing part 14 An address conversion part 16 reads out the size lx, ly of the seal image from the storing part 14, calculates the original point Ao in the storing area of the image data from the data of the center point C of a memory 17 of an already stored seal, transfers the image data to the memory 17, and then enters Ao, lx, ly in a segmented address part 18 Thus, the effective data are compressed and sent from a transmission part 21 to the center
