13 May 2004TL;DR: In this article, an image processing apparatus, including an input unit to which an image data file output from the image-capturing apparatus is input, an identifying unit that identifies the image data files as a file containing the reference image and a normal image, and a correction unit that corrects an image defect in the image identified as the normal image.
Abstract: An image-capturing apparatus, includes: an image-capturing unit that captures an image of a subject through an optical system; and a control unit that outputs images captured at the image-capturing unit as image data files, and: the control unit outputs the image data files in a format that allows an image data file containing a normal image to be distinguished from an image data file containing a reference image to be used to correct an image defect in the normal image. An image processing apparatus, includes: an input unit to which an image data file output from the image-capturing apparatus is input; an identifying unit that identifies the image data file as a file containing the reference image or a file containing the normal image; and a correction unit that corrects an image defect in the image identified as the normal image based upon the image identified as the reference image.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of image file backup stores the backup image file separate from the transferred image file is described. But this method requires the user to transfer the image file to an archive memory for storage and automatically create and store the backup file.
Abstract: The present invention transfers an image file to an archive memory for storage and automatically creates and stores a backup image file in response to transferring the image file. A method of image file backup stores the backup image file separate from the transferred image file. A digital camera includes a transfer driver that provides automatic image file backup in conjunction with uploading of an image file from the camera to an archive memory. A digital photographic system includes a digital camera, a computer having an archive memory, a communications interface connecting the digital camera and computer during an upload of an image file, and a transfer driver that automatically creates and stores a backup image file of the image file in conjunction with the image file upload.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a system and method for processing raster data including at least one input computer terminal for creating postscript data, one raster image processor (RIP), and a PrintDrive system for managing and controlling the workflow of image files containing Raster image data.
Abstract: A system and method for processing raster data including at least one input computer terminal for creating postscript data, at least one raster image processor (RIP), for processing the postscript data into raster data, and a PrintDrive system for managing and controlling the workflow of image files containing raster image data to a plurality of user selectable output devices

10 Sep 1986TL;DR: In this paper, an image information search network system is described, in which the image information file storing units of search stations installed at a plurality of different locations relatively distant from each other can commonly receive image information.
Abstract: In an image information search network system of the invention, image information file storing units of search stations installed at a plurality of different locations relatively distant from each other can commonly receive image information Each image information file storing unit stores image information for a predetermined number of pages and an AWS (advanced work station) serving as a search terminal stores and displays image information for a designated page File directory units for storing management information for searching image information are provided to some search stations, and are also used by the other search stations An image information processing unit can be connected not only to a terminal control unit but also directly to the AWS The terminal control unit is of a distributed processing type, and executes search processing for the respective AWSs The terminal control unit can execute image file transfer processing and printing processing independently of the search processing This allows independent control of the AWSs, a printer, and the image information file storing unit

01 Oct 1997TL;DR: In this paper, a file editor detects how the first thumbnail moved and displayed by the display processor and a second thumbnail displayed on the screen are overlapping each other and executes preset concatenation editing to the source files corresponding to each of the two thumbnails depending on how the thumbnails are overlapping.
Abstract: A source file editing apparatus accomplishes various concatenation editing by displaying source files, especially image files, as thumbnails and controlling the thumbnails using an intuitive process. A reader reads a path from a starting point to an ending point of a drag-and-drop operation. A display processor respectively displays on a screen a plurality of thumbnails corresponding to each of a plurality of source files including image data and/or voice data. The display processor moves a first thumbnail corresponding to the starting point of the drag-and-drop operation read by the reader to an ending point of the drag-and-drop operation. A file editor detects how the first thumbnail moved and displayed by the display processor and a second thumbnail displayed on the screen are overlapping each other. The file editor executes preset concatenation editing to the source files corresponding to each of the two thumbnails depending on how the thumbnails are overlapping each other. Source files can be edited in a manner in which the source files are continuously played.
