TL;DR: In this paper, the face of a person is detected from a photographed image, and then the face is segmented into a predetermined size to create the face thumbnail of a predetermined length.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image reproducing apparatus enabling a user to easily recognize the face of a person on camera. SOLUTION: The face of the person is detected from a photographed image, and the face of the person is segmented into a predetermined size to create the face thumbnail of a predetermined size. Then, the image data of the face thumbnail is recorded into an image file together with image data of a photographed image (main image). COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

TL;DR: In this paper, a system and method for creating characterization information and a correction map from a first display grid that can be transmitted and used by a second display grid is presented, which can then be associated with an image file and sent to a second location for display.
Abstract: This invention is directed to a system and method for creating characterization information and a correction map from a first display grid that can be transmitted and used by a second display grid Computer readable instructions embodied in a computer readable medium calibrate a first display grid and create an ICC color profile and correction map from said calibration information, such that an image to be displayed across an entire display grid which is segmented into portions corresponding to each display device in the display grid is displayed with uniform luminance and color across the entire display grid The invention can then store the correction map and characterization information and send the information to a second display device for it to use Alternatively, the calibration or characterization information can be associated with an image file and sent to a second location for display

TL;DR: In this paper, a retrieved image display method in an image file system is proposed, in which image data records undergone a data compression and index records including positional information of the image data record are stored in a file medium.
Abstract: A retrieved image display method in an image file system in which image data records undergone a data compression and index records including positional information of the image data records are stored in a file medium. The method includes a first step to specify a partial region of a retrieved image to be displayed on a display screen, a second step to attain, based on positional information above included in an index record corresponding to the retrieved image, a recording position of an image data portion on the file medium corresponding to the partial region to be displayed and to partially read out image data from the image data record, and a third step to restore the compressed image data thus read out into the original image data and to display the restored image data on the display screen. In accordance with to the partial region specified in the first step, the operations of the second step and the third step are successively and repetitiously achieved for a plurality of retrieved images to thereby flip pages of the retrieved images on the display screen.

TL;DR: In this paper, a job controller selects images represented by data in the graphic image files stored in the first queue for rasterizing on a real time basis, and the job controller is responsive to parameters of the graphic images, the second queue, and associated output device to manage the flow of image data from the first queuing to a raster image processor (RIP) and from the RIP to the output device via said second queuing.
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for managing a plurality of output devices to generate images from graphic image files. Each of the output devices is associated with a respective control system which includes a first queue for storing the graphic image files. The graphic image files are rasterized to develop raster image data that is stored in a second queue. A job controller selects images represented by data in the graphic image files stored in the first queue for rasterizing on a real time basis. The job controller is responsive to parameters of the graphic image files, the second queue, and the associated output device to manage the flow of image data from the first queue to a raster image processor (RIP) and from the RIP to the output device via said second queue.

TL;DR: Experimental results show that the proposed image encryption algorithm can meet multiple cryptographic criteria and obtain good image encryption effect.
Abstract: The development of the computer network makes image files transportation via network become more and more convenient. This paper is concerned with the image encryption algorithm design based on the chaotic S-box mechanism. This paper proposes an Image Encryption algorithm involving both chaotic dynamic S-boxes and DNA sequence operation(IESDNA). The contribution of this paper is three folded: Firstly, we design an external 256-bit key to get large key space; secondly, we design a chaotic system to scramble image pixels; thirdly, DNA sequence operations are adopted to diffuse the scrambled image pixels. Experimental results show that our proposed image encryption algorithm can meet multiple cryptographic criteria and obtain good image encryption effect.
