A Non-format Compliant Scalable RSA-based JPEG Encryption Algorithm

Abstract: A non-format compliant JPEG encryption algorithm is proposed which is based on a modification of the RSA encryption system. Firstly, an alternate form of entropy coding is described, which is more suited to the proposed algorithm, instead of the zigzag coding scheme used in JPEG. The algorithm for the encryption and decryption process is then elaborated. A variant of the algorithm, also based on the RSA algorithm is also described, which is faster than the original algorithm, but expands the bit stream slightly. Both the algorithms are shown to be scalable and resistant to ‘sketch’ attacks. Finally, the encrypted file sizes for both the algorithms are compared with the unencrypted JPEG compressed image file size. The encrypted image is found to be moderately expanded, but which is justified by the high security and most importantly, the scalability of the algorithm.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to providing a user interface for the effective generation of differential gloss images The user is instructed to indicate the base primary image data, and the desired gloss image data This data may be displayed for verification and position adjustment by superimposition of the gloss image data upon the base image data In an alternative, the placement information may be inferred from the position of originals upon the scanner or copier platen and the result may or may not be displayed By selectively applying halftones with different anisotropic structure orientation characteristics to the base primary image data as directed by the desired gloss image data, a differential gloss image file or hardcopy may be provided

A representative method includes: receiving image data; searching for rasterized image data that corresponds to the image data; if the rasterized image data corresponding to the image data is not found during searching; rasterizing the image data to form rasterized information; and storing the rasterized information. Printing system and method thereof

Abstract: A printing system includes a host which includes a storage having one or more folders, establishes one of the folders as a target folder, and generates path information of the target folder, and an image forming apparatus to acquire a list of image files stored in the target folder based on the path information, to request thumbnail images corresponding to the image files on the list from the host, and to display the thumbnail images on a predetermined display unit by downloading the thumbnail images from the host. The host converts the image files stored in the target folder into the thumbnail images and transmits the thumbnail images to the image forming apparatus, and the image forming apparatus selects at least one among the thumbnail images and prints an image file corresponding to the selected thumbnail image by downloading the image file from the host.
