TL;DR: In this article, an encryption and conversion unit may be incorporated within the hardware and software of a medical imaging device or another network device in order to provide the capability for encrypting a medical image for transmission to a remote network and for converting the medical image to a format that is compatible with a destination device or network.
Abstract: A network device and a peripheral device for attachment with a medical imaging device provides for the encryption and conversion of a medical image into a secure and standardized image file format as well as the communication of the encrypted and/or converted image to a secure server on a remote network. The devices may monitor all medical image files generated on the medical imaging device and encrypt and convert selected medical image files for transmission to a remotely connected device on another network, such as a server or a mobile device. An encryption and conversion unit may be incorporated within the hardware and software of a medical imaging device or another network device in order to provide the capability for encrypting a medical image for transmission to a remote network and for converting the medical image to a format that is compatible with a destination device or network.

TL;DR: Raw projection data acquired at computed tomography were compressed and decompressed and then used for image reconstruction and were more compressible than image files.
Abstract: The authors developed and evaluated a technique of compressing raw projection data at computed tomography (CT). Raw projection data acquired at CT were compressed and decompressed and then used for image reconstruction. For comparison, original images were compressed by comparable ratios. Projection data files were more compressible than image files. Projection data compression is a promising, efficient method to reduce data file size and thus to facilitate retrospective image reconstruction.

TL;DR: In this paper, a sub-image can be used to regenerate any of a multiplicity of full-sized encoded image files, each of which results in the display of the sub-frame image at one of the positions within the full-size image frame.
Abstract: Systems and methods for encoding a sub-image, using conventional MPEG encoding technique, to generate a special image file that is smaller than the equivalent full-frame image file. This special image file can be used to regenerate any of a multiplicity of full-sized encoded image files, each of which results in the display of the sub-frame image at one of a multiplicity of positions within the full-sized image frame.

TL;DR: In this paper, an image retrieval method and apparatus for searching a plurality of images stored in an image file for a desired image are disclosed, when a designated image for designating an image to be retrieved for is input, and its color is designated, the sizes and colors are compared between description information which stores the feature of each of regions obtained by dividing each of images to be searched stored in the image file and feature data of the designated image.
Abstract: An image retrieval method and apparatus for searching a plurality of images stored in an image file for a desired image are disclosed. When a designated image for designating an image to be retrieved for is input, and its color is designated, the sizes and colors are compared between description information which stores the feature of each of regions obtained by dividing each of images to be searched stored in the image file, and feature data of the designated image. In this manner, the regions, which are determined to be included in the designated image, of image data are obtained, and the similarities between the obtained regions of image data and the designated image are calculated. Image data having higher similarities are read out from the image file, and are displayed while being sorted in the descending order from the highest similarity.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a method for easily preparing a digital album by utilizing binary data to which meta-data are preliminarily added, and the image data classified in each different template are inserted into their own image data frame, and a prepared digital album is stored as an SVG file format or a JPGE image file.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for easily preparing a digital album by utilizing binary data to which meta-data are preliminarily added. SOLUTION: In a step S401, a scenario desired to be prepared is selected among prepared scenarios, in a step S402, an image data group desired to be made an album is selected. Next, in a step S403, the selected image data group is read, the keyword of the meta-data of additional information is compared with the keyword of each template to be analyzed, and in a step S404, image data are classified in each different template on the basis of analysis results. Further, in a step S405, the image data classified in each different template are inserted into their own image data frame, and in a step S406, a prepared digital album is stored as an SVG file format or a JPGE image file.
