03 Apr 2002TL;DR: In this article, a system for storing, communicating, and displaying image or graphic data over a network is described, which includes a client that is connectable to a server via a network.
Abstract: A system for storing, communicating, and displaying image or graphic data over a network. The system includes a client that is connectable to a server via a network. The server is configured to store an image file having image data, where the structure of the image file preferably includes submatrices. The submatrices allow the system to render the images using an adaptive rendering technique.

20 Dec 2013TL;DR: In this article, a histogram of one or more characteristics of the reference image is used to generate an image conversion score, which is then converted to a modified image of a second image format having a second bit depth less than the first bit depth and the modified image is scanned onto the continuous scan display screen.
Abstract: Various embodiments relating to reducing memory bandwidth consumed by a continuous scan display screen are provided. In one embodiment, scoring criteria are applied to a reference image of a first image format having a first bit depth to generate an image conversion score. The scoring criteria are based on a histogram of one or more characteristics of the reference image. If the image conversion score is greater than a threshold value, then the reference image is converted to a modified image of a second image format having a second bit depth less than the first bit depth, and the modified image is scanned onto the continuous scan display screen. If the image conversion score is less than the threshold value, then the reference image is scanned onto the continuous scan display screen.

11 May 2005TL;DR: In this article, an original image file including high-resolution image data stored in a specified storage location on a server or a client terminal, and a shortcut image file with an address tag indicating the storage location of the original image files and low-resolution data representing a summary of the high resolution image data of the file.
Abstract: The invention manages image data by an original image file including high-resolution image data stored in a specified storage location on a server or a client terminal, a shortcut image file including an address tag indicating the storage location of the original image file and low-resolution image data representing a summary of the high-resolution image data of the original image file. For utilizing the high-resolution image data, the original image file is acquired based on the address tag included in the shortcut image file. Also depending on whether the acquisition is possible or not, for example if the original image file cannot be acquired, the low-resolution image data contained in the shortcut image file are acquired as a substitute.

09 Mar 1992TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a communication terminal that allows the parallel execution of a plurality of communications with use of the plurality of data channels using a single image and voice channel.
Abstract: A communication terminal apparatus and its control method which allow the parallel execution of a plurality of communications with use of a plurality of data channels. The terminal apparatus comprises an image main controller and a voice main controller which can be operated independently of each other, two network controllers operated as associated with the operations of these image and voice main controllers respectively, two image transmission control circuits which are operated independently of each other, and an image file capable of storing image and voice data, thereby realizing the simultaneous execution of image and image communications and the simultaneous execution of voice and voice communications on a duplex communication basis.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system and a method for generating and regenerating three-dimensional (3D) images file based on two-dimensional image media standards is presented. But the system is not suitable for the generation of 3D images.
Abstract: Disclosed are a system and a method for generating and regenerating three-dimensional (3D) images file based on two-dimensional (2D) image media standards, a 3D image file generating device for generating a 3D image file having a data area, which includes first image data and second image data synchronized with the first image data so as to be used for generating a 3D image, a header area including information of the first image data, and a metadata area including information of the second image data, and a 3D image file regenerating device, which parses information of the first and the second image data when a 3D image file is inputted so as to synthesize and regenerate the first and the second image data into a 3D image file.
