TL;DR: In this paper, the authors use a digital snapshot and digital signature to avoid the need for time consuming re-certification of a control program loaded in a safety controller, the snapshot providing a rapidly loadable memory image file and the signature providing a confirmation that the file loaded matches a previously certified copy.
Abstract: Re-certification of a control program loaded in a safety controller is avoided through the use of a digital snapshot and digital signature, the snapshot providing a rapidly loadable memory image file and the signature providing a confirmation that the file loaded matches a previously certified copy so as to avoid the need for time consuming re-certification.

TL;DR: In this paper, an image recording device continuously recording images from a camera comprises an image file generation unit, a semiconductor memory for temporarily storing the image file, a hard disk divided into a plurality of partitions, and a recording control unit for performing control.
Abstract: An image recording device continuously recording images from a camera comprises: an image file generation unit for generating an image file by encoding images from a security camera; a semiconductor memory for temporarily storing the image file; a hard disk divided into a plurality of partitions; and a recording control unit for performing control so that upon transferring the image file stored in the semiconductor memory to the hard disk and recording the image file in the hard disk, the partitions are circularly initialized and the image file is recorded in the initialized partitions.

TL;DR: In this paper, an electronic document manager (EDM) was used to generate tasks related to electronic image files, where the task engine generated EIF-related tasks and the EDM sorted or filtered the EIF database.
Abstract: A system (20) for generating tasks related to electronic image files. System (20) includes an electronic document manager (EDM) (22) that is in communication with a task engine (24). EDM (22) received electronic image file (EIF) batches (26) generated by a scanning device application (28) and scanning device (30) and third-party generated EIF batches (32). As discussed further below, EDM (22) shares information derived from EIF batches (26) and (32) with task engine (24). In turn, task engine (24) generated EIF-related tasks. Another aspect is a method (170) that sorts or filters the electronic image files stored in EIF database (80) and returns either a list or images of the sorted or filtered files to first portion (120) of graphical user interface (90) for display to a user. Another aspect is a method (180) of generating tasks related to electronic image files.

TL;DR: The image database discussed in this correspondence addresses several important aspects not covered by most other data sets, including the inclusion of cities, CCD digitizer, and complete C language source is provided for the difference coding algorithm.
Abstract: SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION The image database discussed in this correspondence addresses several important aspects not covered by most other data sets. Only images scanned from mailpieces in a working post office are included. This overcomes the subject-bias problems of other databases that were scanned in laboratory settings. Also, the data were. scanned at 300 pixels/in in 8-bit grayscale. This allows for experimentation with preprocessing and grayscale recognition techniques. The image files are compressed with a public domain difference coding algorithm. The bi-tonal images are stored as l-bit/pixel. Complete C language source is provided for the difference coding algorithm and a routine to convert the l-bit/pixel data I-byte/pixel format. Imager Digitizer The context that can be provided by a restricted domain was also All the images were scanned on an Eikonix EC850 4096x4096 addressed in the design of the database. The inclusion of cities, CCD digitizer.

TL;DR: Workflow-related actions describe one or more actions which may be undertaken with respect to the associated image file as mentioned in this paper, by way of example only, printing, editing, reviewing, sharing, deleting, and the like.
Abstract: Methods and systems that permit a user to associate metadata representing one or more workflow-related actions with an image file are provided. Workflow-related actions describe one or more actions which may be undertaken with respect to the associated image file. For instance, workflow-related actions may include, by way of example only, printing, editing, reviewing, sharing, deleting, and the like. Once associated with metadata representing one or more workflow-related actions, the image file may be retrieved based upon a query for at least one of the workflow-related actions. If more than one workflow-related action is represented in the metadata associated with the image file, the image file may be retrieved based upon a query for each workflow-related action individually or multiple workflow-related actions concurrently.
