14 Jul 2005TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-dimensional image format transformation apparatus comprises a scaler to which a multidimensional image is inputted, and a formatter which receives property information of a display device and transforms a format of the scaled image while conforming to properties of the display device.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for transforming a format of a multi-dimensional image so as to output the image in accordance with various display devices. SOLUTION: A multi-dimensional image format transformation apparatus comprises a scaler to which a multi-dimensional image is inputted, and which scales up or down a resolution of the image, and a formatter which receives property information of a display device and transforms a format of the scaled image while conforming to properties of the display device. Thus, a three-dimensional or stereo image can be easily displayed even via any display device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

14 Sep 1998TL;DR: In this article, a system and method for generating the display of multiple screen digital television includes a size controller to adjust the image size by cutting or enlarging the outer portion of the image before the image is reduced to fit the size of a selected PIP window.
Abstract: A system and method for generating the display of multiple screen digital television includes a size controller to adjust the image size by cutting or enlarging the outer portion of the image before the image is reduced to fit the size of a selected PIP window. The size controller also adjusts the image sizes for the main display window if the input image data format does not have a standard image size. The size controller facilitates the processing of image format with special or unconventional image sizes.

TL;DR: Wavelet based Non LSB Steganography (WNLS) is proposed, which can’t be detected by existing steganalysis techniques such as chi-square and pair of values techniques, and observes that the PSNR values are better in the case of IWT compare to DWT for all image formats.
Abstract: Steganography is the methods of communicating secrete information hidden in the cover object. The messages hidden in a host data are digital image, video or audio files, etc, and then transmitted secretly to the destination. In this paper we propose Wavelet based Non LSB Steganography (WNLS). The cover image is segmented into 4*4 cells and DWT/IWT is applied on each cell. The 2*2 cell of HH band of DWT/IWT are considered and manipulated with payload bit pairs using identity matrix to generate stego image. The key is used to extract payload bit pairs at the destination. It is observed that the PSNR values are better in the case of IWT compare to DWT for all image formats. The algorithm can’t be detected by existing steganalysis techniques such as chi-square and pair of values techniques. The PSNR values are high in the case of raw images compared to formatted images.

24 Oct 2007TL;DR: This paper proposes a prototype system based on SVG technology and emphasize the method of similarity measurement, also covers the implementation of the principles, which provides CBIR services.
Abstract: Vector images are becoming more advanced and diffused on the Internet due to their unique characteristics over traditional raster images. As a W3C standard, SVG is a brand-new vector-based image format built on readable/searchable plain-text source code which inherited from XML technology, thus is suitable for Content-based image retrieval. CBIR is the application of computer vision to the image retrieval problem, which analyzes the actual contents of the images themselves rather than relying on annotations or keywords generated by human labor. Without textual descriptions or label information, successful retrieval of relevant images from large- scale image collections is a very interesting yet challenging task, so in this paper, we propose a prototype system based on SVG technology and emphasize the method of similarity measurement, also covers the implementation of the principles, which provides CBIR services.

26 Jun 2003TL;DR: In this article, a method for producing a motion video image file from a motion image sequence was proposed, which includes the steps of providing a first target data rate for a first image frame of the motion video sequence, compressing the first frame using the first target rate, and storing the compressed first frame in a motion-video image file.
Abstract: A method for producing a motion video image file from a motion image sequence, includes the steps of providing a first target data rate for a first image frame of the motion image sequence; compressing the first image frame using the first target data rate, and storing the compressed first image frame in a motion video image file; providing a second target data rate for subsequent image frames of the motion video sequence, the second target data rate being lower than the first target data rate; and compressing the subsequent image frames of the motion image sequence using the second target data rate. The method further includes the steps of storing the compressed subsequent image frames in the motion video image file; decompressing the compressed first image frame; and using the decompressed first image frame to provide a still image representative of the motion video image file.
