TL;DR: In this paper, a representative image generating apparatus for displaying an image which a user considers important among images comprising a plurality of frames represented by image files stored in folders is proposed, where the playback time (display time) of an image represented by an image file contained in a folder is measured image by image.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a representative image generating apparatus for displaying an image which a user considers important among images comprising a plurality of frames represented by image files stored in folders. SOLUTION: Playback time (display time) of an image represented by an image file contained in a folder is measured image by image. Folder icons (representative images) F1 to F4 are generated using the images having the longest playback times. Since folder icons are created using images that the user considers important, merely observing a folder icon makes it possible for the user to grasp the content of images of a plurality of frames represented by the image files contained in the folder identified by this folder icon. TL;DR: In this paper, a system for editing images on a digital camera is described, which comprises an image capture element for capturing an original image, a memory for temporarily storing the original captured image as an image file, a first logic for generating edit description information used to edit the original image and for creating an edited image, where the edited image replaces the original capture image in the memory, and a second logic for deleting the edit descriptions used to reverse the edits and restore the captured image.
Abstract: A system for editing images on a digital camera is disclosed. An exemplary system comprises an image capture element for capturing an original image, a memory for temporarily storing the original captured image as an image file, a first logic for generating edit description information used to edit the original captured image and for creating an edited image, where the edited image replaces the original captured image in the memory, and a second logic for generating undo edit description information used to reverse the edits and restore the original captured image. Exemplary methods and computer readable media are also disclosed.

29 Dec 2006TL;DR: In this paper, a system for associating content-relevant metadata with digital image files was proposed, where the user is allowed to acknowledge the portion of the candidate contentrelevant metadata presented, which can then be stored in a database.
Abstract: A system for associating content-relevant metadata with digital image files. The system searches memory for at least one image file deficient of content-relevant metadata and analyzes the at least one image file for determining existing content-relevant metadata. The at least one image file and at least a portion of candidate content-relevant metadata is presented to the to a user. The user is allowed to acknowledge the portion of the candidate content-relevant metadata presented, which can then be stored in a database.

21 Dec 2000TL;DR: In this article, a transfer unit and an image output control unit are provided in order to check and prevent any alteration or forgery of image file data in a memory card, where the transfer unit transfers a digital signature of the image data stored in the memory card and a secret key used for the digital signature or a public key paired to the secret key.
Abstract: A transfer unit and an image output control unit are provided in order to check and prevent any alteration or forgery of image file data in a memory card. The transfer unit transfers a digital signature of the image file data stored in the memory card, a secret key used for the digital signature or a public key paired to the secret key, together with the image file data and a property file, to an image control apparatus. The image output control unit controls an image output in accordance with the information transferred by the transfer unit.

TL;DR: A new efficient algorithm for binarization of historical documents is presented and its performance is analyzed by comparing it to other nineteen classic thresholding algorithms using measures like precision, recall, accuracy, specificity and a fidelity index.
