TL;DR: The Remote Medical Image Analysis System (RMIAS) as discussed by the authors implements a process for providing computerized medical image analysis for medical service providers using an Application Service Provider (ASP) model.
Abstract: The Remote Medical Image Analysis System implements a process for providing computerized medical image analysis for medical service providers using an Application Service Provider [ASP] model. To analyze a medical image, the system accepts a medical image file from a remotely located user. The medical image file is transferred over a computer network, such as the Internet, wherein the system analyzes the medical image file. The analysis results (which may include transformed images, reports, and diagnoses) are then transferred by the system to the user over the computer network. To accomplish this task, the system implements web servers, application servers, and processing servers, with data servers utilizing a database for data storage and retrieval, coordinating data flows among the various servers and system users and archiving data for longer-term storage.

TL;DR: The proposed approach can handle resolution, quality and region of interest scalability feature of JPEG2000 images and use the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) for streaming.
Abstract: JPEG2000 is a new image compression standard. One of the goals of JPEG2000 is to support large images. Since even the compressed image file can be very big for large images, downloading the entire image can take a long time depending upon the user's connection speed. Thus, we propose to use streaming of JPEG2000 images. We use the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) for streaming. The use of HTTP to stream JPEG2000 images will ease its deployment. Thus, JPEG2000 images can be hosted by a Web server and can be streamed to the client helper application. The solution is scalable, so client devices with different capabilities, a variety of screen resolutions, and heterogeneous bandwidths can all achieve a scalable viewing of the same content stored in a single file. It is also possible to stream only selected regions of the image at a particular resolution and decode this partial stream and display it at the client. Thus, the proposed approach can handle resolution, quality and region of interest scalability feature of JPEG2000 images.

TL;DR: In this paper, a print order where the content of an order regarding print output is provided from a user to a laboratory in a digital form, necessity of printing or the like can be decided at the time of image data acquisition and the image data sets can be classified and stored before they are provided to the laboratory.
Abstract: In the case of a print order where the content of an order regarding print output is provided from a user to a laboratory in a digital form, necessity of printing or the like can be decided at the time of image data acquisition and the image data sets can be classified and stored before they are provided to the laboratory. Furthermore, an order of prints wherein a plurality of image data sets are used, such as printing of a composed photograph, can be placed easily. A portion of the order information, such as necessity of printing, is added to image data as tag information. The reset of the order information is described as order information in an order file. The image data to be printed is specified by image information in the order file, and an addition to flag showing that the tag information needs to be referred to is set to ON. A printing order receiving apparatus receives both the image file and the order file and carries out processing on the image data according to the tag information and the order information.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a system for universal remote access and display of diagnostic images acquired by diagnostic imaging equipment, independent of the identity of the vendor that manufactured the equipment.
Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling universal remote access and display of diagnostic images acquired by diagnostic imaging equipment, independent of the identity of the vendor that manufactured the equipment. One system includes a local area network; a scanner capable of sending objects formatted in accordance with a communications protocol, each object incorporating at least one image frame; and a data capture device connected to the local area network and programmed with data capture software to capture an object originating from the scanner in response to that scanner being specified as an object of diagnosis. This system further includes a communications channel, e.g., a virtual private network, for connecting the data capture device to a central service facility. The preferred communications protocol is DICOM. In response to an instruction from the service center, the data capture device on the LAN captures image files from a malfunctioning scanner and forwards them to the service center for diagnosis.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method of generating an image file of a personalized 3D head model of a user is presented. But the method consists of the following steps: (i) acquiring at least one 2D image of the user's face; (ii) performing automated face 2D landmark recognition; (iii) providing a 3D face geometry reconstruction using a shape prior; and (iv) providing texture map generation and interpolation with respect to the face geometry reconstructions.
Abstract: There is provided a method of generating an image file of a personalized 3D head model of a user, the method comprising the steps of: (i) acquiring at least one 2D image of the user's face; (ii) performing automated face 2D landmark recognition based on the at least one 2D image of the user's face; (iii) providing a 3D face geometry reconstruction using a shape prior; (iv) providing texture map generation and interpolation with respect to the 3D face geometry reconstruction to generate a personalized 3D head model of the user, and (v) generating an image file of the personalized 3D head model of the user A related system and computer program product are also provided
