TL;DR: In this paper, a method of processing images includes the steps of retrieving a source image file including pixel data, creating a destination image file buffer, mapping the pixel data from the source image files to the destination image files buffer, and outputting the outputting pixel data as a destination file.
Abstract: A method of processing images includes the steps of retrieving a source image file including pixel data, creating a destination image file buffer, mapping the pixel data from the source image file to the destination image file buffer, and outputting pixel data from the destination image file buffer as a destination image file. The step of mapping pixel data from the source image file to the destination image file buffer can include the step of interpolating the source image pixel data to produce pixel data for the destination image file buffer. Border pixel data can be added to the source image file to improve the efficiency interpolation step. The source image file can be a panoramic projection image file, and can include pixel data from a plurality of images. An apparatus for processing images in accordance with the method is also provided.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of transferring a compressed web page over a computer network without affecting the existing web server applications and processes is proposed, which intercepts a request from a workstation for the web page and then sends a second request to the server from the compressor for the original, uncompressed web page.
Abstract: A method of transferring a compressed web page over a computer network without affecting the existing web server applications and processes. The compressor intercepts a request from a workstation for the web page. A second request is transmitted to the server from the compressor for the original, uncompressed web page. The web page is selectively compressed in the compressor. Then the compressed web page is transmitted to the workstation. Optionally, some of the files associated web page, such as image files, are also compressed and the references to the compressed associated files is changed to reflect any change in the name of the compressed associated files.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus for printing provides for direct printing out of image files received from a system that is external to the printer, which is called Direct Image File Printing System (DIFS).
Abstract: A method and apparatus for printing provides for direct printing out of image files received from a system that is external to the printer. The method includes the step of determining whether or not a command mode of the printer at present is a Direct Image File Printing System mode, if data are inputted to the printer from a host computer that is external to the printer. The method may also include the step of converting the inputted data into an image form which can be outputted so as to print them out depending on the image file type mode. This step may occur if the command mode of the printer at present is found to be the Direct Image File Printing mode upon a result of the examination.

TL;DR: In this article, a series of linked burst mode images can include delta images representing a temporal difference between the image data (e.g., pixel data) for two burst images captured at different time instances.
Abstract: Modified compression/decompression and metadata in burst mode images reduce the storage space consumed by burst mode images. Metadata is added to image files (e.g., EXIF files) to establish links between images in a burst mode image series. A series of linked burst mode images can include delta images representing a temporal difference between the image data (e.g., pixel data) for two burst images captured at different time instances. Difference information can be compressed. A root image for a linked burst mode series can be identified and used as a reference for other burst images. Metadata can be added to image files to link burst images prior to compression, after compression, or at an intermediate stage of compression of image data. Difference information for delta image files can be derived prior to compression, after compression, or at an intermediate stage of compression of image data.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system for distributed digital, particularly graphic arts images, content trading over the Internet and other communication means is described, where image publishers, interested in selling rights in their proprietary high-resolution images, publish in the service's web-site thumbnails representing those images, and the image buyer, searching the service web site for images of particular attributes, selects those thumbnails meeting her/his requirements, and gets from the service a temporary direct communication link to the image repository of the image publisher, owning the selected images.
Abstract: A method and system for distributed digital, particularly graphic arts images, content trading over the Internet and other communication means The system comprises image publishers, each equipped with a web server, an image repository and a publishing module; image buyers, each equipped with a web server, an image enhancement unit and a system service center, equipped with a web server, an image attributes database, a search module, a billing module and a coordination and control module. Image publishers, interested in selling rights in their proprietary high-resolution images, publish in the service's web-site thumbnails representing those images. The image buyer, searching the service web site for images of particular attributes, selects those thumbnails meeting her/his requirements, and gets from the service a temporary direct communication link to the image repository of the image publisher, owning the selected images. The buyer got the option to remotely review, enhance and embed, in a page layout, the low-resolution representation of the selected thumbnails, and quality check parts of the high-resolution images including generic and precise simulations When satisfied, the buyer gets into a price and payment negotiation with the image publisher, and subsequently pays via the service's billing module, which automatically splits the sum received to the eligible parties. On conclusion of the transaction the buyer acquires, by Internet, CD or transparency, the high-resolution image file directly from the publisher's repository, whereas the high-resolution files were automatically rendered by the enhancement unit ready for print, following the parameters set previously by the buyer
