TL;DR: In this paper, a CPU reads a flat image file from a HD and displays that flat image on an image display liquid crystal of a display portion, and then the CPU performs stereoscopic presentation processing on the pixels of that region and then writes the synthetic parallax image that is obtained by performing that stereo presentation processing over the flat image.
Abstract: A device that from flat image data creates image data with which a portion of those flat image data can be viewed in three dimensions, and that allows the image to been seen three-dimensionally by a viewer, is provided. A CPU reads a flat image file from a HD and displays that flat image on an image display liquid crystal of a display portion. When an operator performs a drag-and-drop operation to specify a region that he would like to view in three dimensions from that flat image, the CPU performs stereoscopic presentation processing on the pixels of that region and then writes the synthetic parallax image that is obtained by performing that stereoscopic presentation processing over the flat image. The flat image over which the synthetic parallax image has been written is then again displayed on the image display liquid crystal.

TL;DR: In this article, a system for editing images into slideshow comprises an input device for sending a control signal to a host, which receives the control signal and executes application programs to preview and edit image files with real-time feedback, and interactively edit the slideshow and display the slideshow on a display device.
Abstract: A slideshow editing system for editing images into slideshow comprises an input device for sending a control signal to a host. The host receives the control signal and executes application programs to preview and edit image files with real time feedback, and interactively edit the slideshow and display the slideshow on a display device. Thus, the user may gain the advantage of not editing images and slideshows on the video timeline.

26 Sep 2001TL;DR: This paper reports an adaptive still color image compression method which produces automatically selected ROI with a higher reconstruction quality with respect to the rest of the input image.
Abstract: This paper reports an adaptive still color image compression method which produces automatically selected ROI with a higher reconstruction quality with respect to the rest of the input image. The ROI are generated on-the fly with a purely data-driven technique based on visual attention. Inspired from biological vision, the multicue visual attention algorithm detects the most visually salient regions of an image. Thus, when operating in systems with low bit rate constraints, the adaptive coding scheme favors the allocation of a higher number of bits to those image regions that are more conspicuous to the human visual system. The compressed image files produced by this adaptive method are fully compatible with the JPEG standard, which favors their widespread utilization.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system and method for managing digital medical images includes retrieving one or more medical images from among a plurality of digital medical image files having medical images formatted in two or more different image file formats.
Abstract: A system and method for managing digital medical images includes retrieving one or more digital medical images from among a plurality of digital medical image files having medical images formatted in two or more different image file formats. A working copy image of each of the retrieved digital medical images is created, one or more working copy images are displayed, and one or more displayed images are edited responsive to an input from an operator such that the displayed images include the edits. Text data associated with one or more edited images is received. A directory is automatically created in a database associated with the one or more edited images and the text data and an XML file and an HTML file are automatically created and associated with the directory. The edited images, the text data, the XML file, and the HTML file are stored in the directory.
