TL;DR: The fourth Biomedical Imaging Research Opportunities Workshop (BIROW IV) uncovered multiple research opportunities that have the potential of enhancing the discovery of new knowledge, providing more efficient pathways for drug development, yielding improvements in the management of chronic metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, and guiding medical interventions such as surgery, radiation oncology, and ablation therapy.
Abstract: The fourth Biomedical Imaging Research Opportunities Workshop (BIROW IV) was held in February, 2006 in Bethesda, Maryland. The workshop explored four promising areas of imaging research: Imaging of rodent models; Imaging in drug development; Imaging of chronic metabolic disease – diabetes; and Image-guided intervention in the 4th dimension – time. These explorations uncovered multiple research opportunities that have the potential of enhancing the discovery of new knowledge, providing more efficient pathways for drug development, yielding improvements in the management of chronic metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, and guiding medical interventions such as surgery, radiation oncology, and ablation therapy. Research challenges were identified in each of these areas of opportunity that must be resolved through scientific exploration and technology development. The meeting concluded with the observation that research in biomedical imaging offers the potential of improving patient care in many ways, and the promise of exciting and rewarding careers to young research aspirants.

TL;DR: The scheme of Newtonian rings experiment measurement based on CCD imaging technology has avoided the influence on the accuracy of the measurement results due to many human factors in the process of testing; it has a strong theoretical and practical significance.
Abstract: Using CCD imaging measurement technology, the localized and non localized interfering Newtonian rings are acquired;the online measuring system is built, and the measurement results are obtained according to the relevant theory of digital image processing. The scheme of Newtonian rings experiment measurement based on CCD imaging technology has avoided the influence on the accuracy of the measurement results due to many human factors in the process of testing;it has a strong theoretical and practical significance.

TL;DR: In this article, the application of the results of UV imaging technology in the field of evidence examination, explores the common object of potential fingerprints of UV spectra characteristic for the research objectives, which shows the potential traces of criminal using the ultraviolet spectrum imaging method.
Abstract: Spectral imaging technology research is becoming more extensive in the field of examination of material evidence. UV spectral imaging technology is an important part of the full spectrum of imaging technology. This paper summarizes the application of the results of UV imaging technology in the field of evidence examination, explores the common object of potential fingerprints of UV spectra characteristic for the research objectives, which shows the potential traces of criminal using the ultraviolet spectrum imaging method.
